Bet 1: Bolton vs Bradford City – Both Teams to Score
With both Bolton and Bradford setting their sights on the League One promotion race this season, it was a tad disappointing to see a goalless draw in their last league meeting a fortnight ago.
With both teams set to make changes for this EFL Trophy knockout clash, we expect a totally different match, one that is hopefully full of goalscoring action.
Bolton’s two most recent cup outings have produced 11 goals, with BTTS landing in both those matches.
Bradford are in a similar predicament. The Bantams have only scored two goals across their last four League One matches, though their last two EFL Trophy games have seen them rattle the net six times.
With several youngsters looking to make their mark, we should be in for a far more open encounter. Bearing that in mind, both teams to score is the way to go at 7/10.
Bet 2: Doncaster vs Chesterfield – Over 0.5 Away Goals
Fresh from their big victory over Peterborough, Doncaster Rovers will be looking to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since early September.
Chesterfield, on the other hand, will be looking to shake off a poor run of form which has seen them win just one of their last five games across all competitions.
Doncaster’s poor defensive record is certainly worth mentioning, with Rovers keeping just one clean sheet from their last nine outings.
Chesterfield, who boast the second-best attack in League Two, will fancy their chances away at the Eco-Power Stadium, and we are backing them to score over 0.5 goals at 7/20.
Bet 3: Port Vale vs Barnsley – Double Chance Barnsley/Draw
Barnsley won this competition as recently as 2016, and they will be looking to mark the 10-year anniversary with another long EFL Trophy run.
League One rivals Port Vale stand in their way on Tuesday night, with the Tykes determined to avenge a 2-0 defeat from late September.
A lot has changed since then, and Port Vale are currently in a poor run of form. The Valiants have lost six of their last eight matches across all competitions, failing to score in their last three outings.
Barnsley, on the other hand, have won three of their last five, including an away win over Yorkshire rivals Doncaster.
Conor Hourihane is enjoying a solid first foray into the world of football management, and we expect his Barnsley side to cause their opponents a lot of problems. The Tykes to win or draw in the double chance market is the way to go.
