TSG Hoffenheim vs RB Leipzig: Back the In-Form Visitors
On paper, this is the standout fixture of the weekend, sixth-placed Hoffenheim host second-placed Leipzig, and both sides are flying with three straight league wins apiece. Despite the even market, there are clear signs pointing toward an away victory.
Since their opening 0–6 loss in Munich, Leipzig have gone on a superb run: 22 points from a possible 24, scoring 19 goals and conceding just 4 in their last eight matches, a club record start.
Leipzig’s away form:
-
Three wins, one draw, one defeat – 4th in the away table
-
Only failed to win at Bayern and Dortmund
Hoffenheim’s home record:
-
Three defeats from four home league games (Frankfurt, Bayern, Köln)
-
Only home win came against bottom side Heidenheim
-
Ranked 14th in the home table (1–0–3)
The hosts have found confidence after wins over St. Pauli, Heidenheim and Wolfsburg (scoring three in each), but Leipzig are on a completely different level right now under new boss Ole Werner.
Prediction: Leipzig to Win – 29/20 on BetMGM
Hamburg SV vs Borussia Dortmund: A tight game on the cards
Hamburg were thrashed 4–1 by Cologne last weekend and have now lost three straight matches, tumbling down the table. Dortmund, meanwhile, suffered a 4–1 Champions League defeat to Manchester City but had edged narrow league wins over Cologne and Augsburg beforehand.
Despite a few recent high-scoring results, the data and form both point towards a low-scoring encounter in our Hamburg v Dortmund prediction.
Key stats:
-
None of Dortmund’s last eight Bundesliga matches have produced more than three goals
-
Under 3.5 Goals has landed in 89% (8/9) of Dortmund league games this season – the highest rate in the division
-
For Hamburg, Under 3.5 has landed in six of nine matches (67%), and in three of four home games (75%)
Everything points to another controlled Dortmund performance and limited scoring.
Prediction: Under 3.5 Goals – 8/11 on bet365
Borussia Mönchengladbach v FC Cologne: Both Teams to Score in the Rhine Derby
Saturday night brings us the Rhine Derby, as Borussia Mönchengladbach host Cologne, and we’re backing goals on both sides.
Gladbach have struggled at home for much of the season, failing to score in four of five games, and holding just a 33% BTTS rate (three of nine). But recent form shows a turnaround: back-to-back wins over Karlsruhe (3–1, DFB-Pokal) and St. Pauli (4–0) suggest their attack is back in business.
Cologne, on the other hand, have been a BTTS favourite all season:
-
Both teams scored in six of their nine Bundesliga matches (67%)
-
Cologne have scored in 10 of their last 11 competitive matches (only exception: away to Dortmund)
-
Eight of the last nine Rhine Derbies have seen both teams score (89%)
Kickform’s predictive model also supports our pick, assigning a 65% probability for BTTS and projecting a 2–1 home win for Gladbach, perfectly in line with the market.
Prediction: Both Teams to Score – 4/7 on Betfred
