One of the best things about this tournament is that it throws together all sorts of interesting fixtures, leaving the bookies dizzier than the aftermath of a few pints on a Waltzer. That means there’s plenty of value to be found, and our Women’s Rugby World Cup tips have tracked down the best of the bunch.

Women’s Rugby World Cup Tips

Bet 1: Bookies Miss the Mark: England vs Samoa Handicap Set Higher Than Big Ben (10/11)

No doubt about it, England were absolutely sensational in their 69–7 mauling of the USA, stretching their jaw-dropping unbeaten run to 28 matches. Put bluntly, England beating Samoa here looks likelier than DFS having a sale on.

That said, this handicap is another beast entirely. The bookies want us to believe England are about to dish out a battering so brutal it’d make a deep-fried Mars bar feel like it got off lightly. Eighty-five and a half points. Let that sink in.

Now, we’re not saying it’s impossible. England really are that bloody good. But the maths doesn’t lie: only one of their last ten games has cleared that margin, the 88–10 demolition of Ireland, where they sliced through the Irish defence like a hot knife through butter. Before that, you’ve got to dig back 24 games to find another scoreline in the same galaxy: an 84–19 blowout against Fiji.

And Samoa? They’ve never been on the wrong end of anything that wild. Even the Aussies, who walloped them 73–0, didn’t push it over the line.

So yes, England could do it, but we’d realistically say it’s around a 10% shot. Bookies have it at 10/11 (52.4%). You don’t need our payout calculator to know that that adds up to a whole lot of value.

Bet 2: Down Under Dominance: Wallabies to Leave 11.5 Handicap in Their Dust (5/6)

How is it that Australia could have just come from demolishing Samoa to being given 10/11 odds on beating the USA by 11.5 points?

Don’t get us wrong, we admire the positivity of the Yanks post their comprehensive defeat by the English, with centre Ilona Mahar telling BBC Sport after the match that, “If it was an easy match, we would have come in flying and could have been too confident. I think it gets us psyched for Australia because we had moments of brilliance.” But unfortunately, all the optimism in the world doesn’t change the reality that they are facing an Aussie side that is right now on another level of quality.

Sure, their last meeting in May was a close one, finishing 27-19, but the Australian team have come into the Rugby World Cup with a renewed energy and sense of purpose and it showed in abundance in that first outing. If they come into this game in that form, we’ve no reason to expect anything less, they’ll be jumping over that handicap with the ease of a kangaroo on a caffeine kick.

Bet 3: Wake Up, William Hill: South Africa’s Improvements Can’t Be Ignored (11/10)

If you were a magician, William Hill would be your dream audience, they’re always looking the wrong way. And fair play, the last time Italy faced South Africa, they muscled out a thrilling 23-19 victory that could have gone either way. But that was then, and this is now, nearly a year later.

What matters is how the teams are coming into this clash. South Africa, fresh off a 66-6 demolition of Brazil, have convinced us they’re operating on a whole new level. Italy, meanwhile, have been more up-and-down than a yo-yo: brilliant against Wales and Scotland, wobbly against Ireland and France.

Basically, the bookies are stuck in 2024, probably still buzzing about Beyoncé’s country album while thinking Italy still have the edge. At 11/10 on South Africa, William Hill are leaving money on the table.
