The revamped US Open mixed doubles is in full swing with the pairing of Jessica Pegula and Britain’s Jack Draper due to face Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud in the semi-finals.
Pegula and Draper both had a disappointing time at Wimbledon this summer and will be looking to bounce back in both the singles and in the new mixed doubles format. The pair were impressive in their win over Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz and we have got three value bets for you ahead of their clash with Swiatek and Ruud.
US Open Mixed Doubles: Pegula/Draper vs Swiatek/Ruud Odds
While the new format may not have been met with universal approval from the tennis purists, it appeared to have captured the imagination of the crowds at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Pegula and Draper comfortably beat Raducanu and Alcaraz 4-2, 4-2 (the new format has been shortened) to progress to the semi-finals. And Pegula, who has previously topped the WTA rankings in doubles, made her experience in this version of the game count. The pair then wasted little time in dispatching Mirra Andreeva and Daniil Medvedev 4-1, 4-1.

Let’s look at each bet and our reasoning behind them.
Bet One: Pegula/Draper to Win Match (8/11)
Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper both come into this tournament quite fresh. And both have a point to prove. Wimbledon proved to be disappointing for both. However, the way that they began this mixed doubles tournament suggests better days ahead.
A major advantage for the pair is Pegula's doubles pedigree as a former world number one. Currently ranked fourth in the world for singles, her main priority at Flushing Meadows will be the WTA US Open singles. However, she is showing that doubles is a specialist branch of the sport, and her presence has given the pair a major boost. Draper had not competed since his Wimbledon exit; however, he looks fresh and seems to be approaching his best form.
Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud have been impressive so far. However, Swiatek was involved in a tough final against Jasmine Paolini in the Cincinnati Open on Monday. And although she will have been boosted by her victory there is a chance that fatigue may kick in. We are backing Pegula and Draper to prevail.
Bet Two: Pegula/Draper to Win First Set (4/5)
Pegula and Draper came flying out of the blocks in both of their matches on day one. Swiatek and Ruud were not exactly sluggish, but we are still expecting the first set to go the way of the US/British combo. We mentioned Swiatek’s tough schedule earlier. The effects of this could well come through which means she may take a while to keep going.
Furthermore, the tournament has been criticised by traditionalists for sidelining doubles specialists for singles superstars in the revamp. Doubles has a distinct skill set and Pegula's experience in this branch of the sport will lead to her and Draper setting faster.
Bet Three: Swiatek/Ruud to Win a Set (4/11)
Despite tipping Pegula and Draper to win the match and the first set we do not expect them to have it all their own way. Swiatek and Ruud have too much class and are too competitive not to make a fight of this. We think that this match will go to three sets.
