Hacks to Win Outstanding Comedy Series

Season three of Hacks was arguably the best yet. The show is a true comedy darling and winner of this very award in 2024, so odds of around 3/1 look good value. Jean Smart’s Deborah Vance and Hannah Einbinder’s Ava took the show to a new level, with a ruthless, emotional power flip that tends to tug on the heartstrings of the critics. No spoilers, but the finale was easily one of the best of 2025, and that alone will have it in the conversation once again this year.

The White Lotus to win Outstanding Drama Series

The White Lotus continues to do big numbers for HBO. Season three was its best yet, averaging 2.4 million on premiere night and a record 6.2 million by the finale. Vanity Fair have them at 12.2 million per episode, an increase of 78% over season two. It’s this very momentum why we think the voters are going to be looking at the likes of Carie Coon, Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs and Walton Goggins to bag yet another award for one of the hottest dramas of all time.

The Penguin to Win Limited or Anthology Series

Let’s just take a minute to appreciate the acting brilliance of Colin Farrell. His transformation into Oz Cobb in The Penguin was no joke, and he absolutely nailed the role. It was a rare IP spin-off that critics and audiences embraced, not least the team here at TPP. They are nominated for tons of awards this year, so they will win something, but this is the big one, and we think that the cast has done enough to get this over the line.

Markets for the Emmy Awards betting are admittedly a little limited. There’s not a great deal in variation outside of betting on the winner of said award. But there are a couple of interesting variations that some of the bookies like to throw into the mix, which we have covered below.

This market is all about how many wins a single show gets on the night. This can be anything from the best comedy series to leading actors, visual effects, supporting roles and everything in between.

For the most wins by a network or platform, you’re betting on how many awards the likes of HBO, Netflix and Apple TV win. Again, this will include all awards for any show that they’ve produced.

The bookies will set a line for the show, and you need to choose over or under that line for that specific show. For example, if you’re betting on The Penguin and the line is 6.5, if you bet over, you need seven or more and under six or less.

This is a simple market where you bet on a show or actor to win at least one award. Most will have multiple nominations, so there are lots of opportunities here.

Head-to-head markets can include shows or performers, and you’re betting on the person or show to win the most awards on the night. For example, Severance and The Studio are up for awards across multiple categories, and you can bet on which show you think will win the most awards on the night.

What Are the Emmy Awards?

The Emmys are basically the Oscars, but for TV shows and actors, instead of the movie industry. It’s the top honours and celebrates excellence across all categories from actors, sound, lighting, costume and writing. And just like our Oscars odds and tips, it’s super competitive from a betting perspective.

The main show is the Primetime Emmy Awards, and this includes all the biggest comedies, dramas and short stories. There are also ceremonies for daytime TV, news and documentaries, sports and even an international category.

Television Academy members conduct voting. Their role is not only to nominate subjects for each of the categories, but also to rate and critique before voting starts. The first round of voting is for the nominees, and the second for the winners.

The Emmys have been running since 1949, making this one of the oldest award ceremonies on the circuit.

What Influences the Odds to Win the Emmy Awards?

After so many years running, the bookies do tend to get a feel of how voting by the National Active members could go. They look for measurable signals, such as viewing figures, multiple nominations across different categories, high visibility on major platforms and strong press during the voting window.

Timing plays a big role as well. The eligibility window for the Emmy Awards 2025 is from June 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025. Late-season buzz is real, so anything that comes out a few months before voting closes generally has a better chance of doing well, which is something to consider as part of a wider sport betting strategy.

When is the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards Ceremony?

2025 will be the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, and the ceremony takes place on Sunday, September 14, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. Nate Bargatze is the host, and it will air on CBS and Paramount+.
