infographic on football statistics facts

Possibly the most interesting part of the competition, the Conference League standings and group stage in general are full of European minnows who we often don’t get to see in international competitions.

On this page, we've compiled all the data you'll ever need to bet on the UECL. In our interactive table above, you'll find stats for goals for (GF), goals against (GA) and the goal difference (GD) for each team. This is valuable intel you can use when betting on Total Goals and other goal-related markets.

If you want to get real value, betting using detailed football stats is the way to go. In fact, I would suggest using several sets of stats at once to place more informed bets.

Consider the stats below, for example, which includes detailed statistics on average shots per game, shots on target per game, and total goals scored for top players in the current league.

PlayerClubShots (per game)Shots on Target (per game)Goals
Eran ZahaviMaccabi Tel Aviv4.22.05
Gift OrbanGent3.21.45
Benjamin NygrenFC Nordsjælland2.41.25

As you can see, Eran Zahavi is a great shout to be one of the Europa Conference League top scorers, as well as offering good potential for bets on over 1.5 shots and similar markets.

However, Benjamin Nygren is a cautionary tale for stats betting, serving as a reminder of how nuanced such information can be. Looking at this table alone, for instance, he may look like a worthy contender for top scorer; having said that, the fact that FC Nordsjælland finished third and have been eliminated means it's unlikely he'll maintain a top position. This highlights the importance of considering a range of statistics before placing any bets.

If you’re looking to understand team tendencies and make informed betting decisions in these specific markets, our interactive table above can provide all this data, with 27 markets and dozens of submarkets to choose from.

Just check out what five minutes of research got me when looking up betting markets for Aston Villa and Fiorentina:

TeamOver 2.5 goalsBTTSOver 1.5 cards
Aston Villa4/65/64/6
Fiorentina4/64/64/6

Those are pretty good numbers, meaning that opting for a cheeky bet builder using these stats could bring great returns. Imagine what even more in-depth research could uncover!

The newest addition to UEFA club competitions, the Europa Conference League is an interesting competition, to say the least. It’s creation has given smaller European clubs the chance to find glory and bring home UEFA silverware. But how does it work, and who qualifies?

UEFA Conference League Teams

Who exactly gets into the competition? This is decided by each nation – for example, England offers its one spot to the Carabao Cup winners or seventh place. In Germany, it’s sixth or seventh place depending on the DFB Pokal winners.

There are 178 teams competing for just 32 spots in the group stage, with nations ranking between 20th – 48th in UEFA coefficient being given three spots each. This opens up the possibility for lower division teams to enter Europe without getting battered by club giants.

UEFA Conference League Format

With UEFA introducing many changes in their competitions, this may be one of the last seasons which follows this format. That being said, this is how it’s currently operated – after the several qualifying rounds to determining the 32 actual teams in the finals.

The 32 teams are divided into eight groups of four and will play each other twice to determine the final Europa Conference League Standings. The top spot then will progress to the round of 16. The second-placed team will have to play a qualifying round against the third-placed teams in the Europa League. Third- and fourth-placed teams are eliminated.

The knockout rounds are self-explanatory, with the Europa Conference League draw deciding the round of 16. Winners will progress to the next round with two-legged matches until the single-legged final.

UEFA Europa Conference League Winners

With only three seasons since its inception, the UEFA Europa Conference League has a brief history and limited statistics. In its inaugural year, 2022, Roma claimed the trophy against Feyenoord, while West Ham emerged victorious last year, defeating Fiorentina. Notably, an Italian team has been a finalist in each season so far.

2022/23West Ham2-1Fiorentina

The third level of European football has a lot to offer, with some excellent teams that usually don't get much limelight. This Europa Conference League Stats page places a spotlight not only on these teams, but on the great betting opportunities available to you!

This year’s favourites are none other than Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at 3/1 odds. Last year’s finalists, Fiorentina, are second favourites at 11/2. This could all change depending on who drops down from the Europa League.

At the beginning of the season, the UEFA Europa Conference League spot is reserved for the Carabao Cup (EFL Cup) winners. If the cup winners finishes in the top six, they will qualify for either the Champions or Europa League and the Conference League spot will go to 7th place – which is what happened last season.

Similar to the Europa League, the competition starts with a groups stage consisting of eight groups of four. The top spot enters the round of 16, while the second-placed team of the group enters a playoff with the third place of the Europa League groups. The competition then follows a normal knockout style progression from the round of 16.
