Six months. Who am I kidding? It was only a matter of days after McIlroy holed that winning putt in 2025 before I was already looking at ante-post value for the 2026 Masters. What can I say, I’m a golf sicko, and there’s no tournament bigger than the Masters in my eyes.

My shortlist of 15+ potential bets has been narrowed to just three, and after backing Rory at 12/1 last year to win, I’m hoping for more of the same this year.

I Backed Patrick Reed to Win E/W in FEBRUARY!

My top 2026 Masters golf pick - Patrick Reed

I’m going to be honest, I backed Patrick Reed at 40/1 each way (1/5th odds, paying top eight) back in February, and he’s now shortened to 30/1 for the same terms. Before I jump into the hows and whys, I still think he’s good value at this price, but you can get 33/1 with some of the best golf betting sites if you’re willing to take him on with only five places paid.

His form since leaving LIV at the start of 2026 and returning to the DP World Tour has been superb. Reed has already won twice – Hero Dubai Desert Classic and the Qatar Masters – along with two other top 10s from his five starts.

But it’s his record at Augusta that makes him such a good value bet. Following his win here in 2018, he’s had five top 12 finishes in seven starts, including 3rd, T12 and T4 in his last three. Horses for courses springs to mind. Reed has elite short-game, approach, and putting stats, which have been the bedrock of his consistency here over the years.

An interesting stat that cropped up last week was that 15 of the last 15 winners ranked inside the top 30 in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (SG:T2G) during the year leading up to the win. Reed is ranked number one on the DP World Tour this year, but even if we combine the two tours, he’d slot nicely in at number 15. Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together?

It’s not lost on me how disliked Reed is amongst the online golf community, and some of that criticism is warranted. But head over heart here, and he’s a name that too many are sleeping on. Odds of 40/1 might just look a steal come that back nine on Sunday.

Jon Rahm to Win His Second Green Jacket – Ole!

I've backed Jon Rahm to win the masters at 12/1

As a true golf nut, it sucks to see Jon Rahm playing at LIV. I want to see him go up against the best week in, week out and right now, the majority of those are on the PGA Tour. So when the majors come around, it’s nice to see the likes of Rahm and Bryson back in the mix.

Every year for my Masters bets, I have at least one pick on the nose. A straight win, no each-way fence sitting. Just a single bet that’s hopefully going to create a nice payday. Last year, that was Rory at 12/1. And for 2026, that bet is on Jon Rahm at the same odds.

The Spaniard’s record on LIV has been insane. His worst finish since joining in 2024 is T10. It’s almost laughable. According to Data Golf, he’s second in their rankings, behind only Scottie Scheffler, and even without his 2023 Masters win, Rahm has a great record at Augusta, with six top-14 finishes in nine starts.

For me, he’s playing the best golf out of the unofficial “big four” – McIlroy, Scheffler, DeChambeau, and Rahm – and at 12/1 with the best online bookies, he’s great value to pick up his second green jacket.

Min Woo Lee Over Chris Gotterup – But Only Just

With so much to choose from around the 30/1 to 60/1 players, it’s been tough to narrow down another each-way bet. I’m conscious that I’ve already got a similar bet in Patrick Reed, but you can never have too much cover, right? After all, it’s the greatest week of the year.

It came down to a straight fight in the Masters betting between the 45/1 Min Woo Lee and the 55/1 Chris Gotterup. An early disclaimer: I’m a big fan of both.

Gotterup has exploded onto the scene over the last 12 months. He bagged the Scottish Open back in July 2025 and then almost won his first major the week after at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush. He’s already got two wins this year alone – WM Phoenix Open and the Sony Open – and he’s now into the top 10 in the world. If you were to take Gotterup this week at 55/1, I couldn’t argue with you at all.

However, I’ve opted for a little more experience in the form of Min Woo Lee. His game is also trending up, with a great start to 2026 that includes six top-14 finishes. The fact that he’s had four stabs at Augusta is also prominent in this pick. He ticks the boxes for the SG:T2G stats I mentioned earlier, and has one of the best short games in the world. Seriously, if you get a chance to watch him live, it’s truly absurd how good he is with a wedge in hand.

Trading a small amount in the odds is fine, and I think both are way overpriced and will drop as those Thursday tee times draw closer. Min Woo Lee at 45/1 E/W is my final Masters betting pick for 2026.
