Britain’s Jack Draper came through in four sets against qualifier Federico Agustin Gomez to set up a second-round clash with Belgian number one Zizou Bergs. Bergs is a tough competitor who will push Draper, returning to fitness after an arm injury, all the way. Draper Fighting Back to Fitness
Draper lost the third set on a tiebreak before going on to secure the match in the fourth. According to the BBC, Draper welcomed the chance to be on court for three hours as he returns to full fitness. He will be looking to pick up where he left off against Bergs.
Bergs secured his place in the second round of the ATP US Open with a straight sets win over Tseng Chun-hsin, firing down seven aces in the process. Bergs is a powerful, athletic player who likes to ask questions of his opponent. He will provide Draper with a stern test.

Let’s look at the three bets and why we think that they will come off.
Bet One: Jack Draper to win 3-1 (9/4)
The US Open in 2024 saw Draper reach his only Grand Slam singles semi-final to date. The Briton is very much at home on hardcourt and if he rediscovers his best form, he is capable of reaching the business end of the tournament again. Bergs is a difficult opponent, and we don’t see Draper having it all his own way. We think that the Brit will progress to round three, however, while he will show improvement from his first-round match, we also expect him to drop a set.
Bet Two: Over 0.5 Tiebreaks (10/11)
Draper was taken to a tiebreak by Agustin Gomez in the third set, which the Argentine won. We have already said that Bergs will make a fight of it. We think that at least one set will go the distance.
Bet Three: 15+ Aces in Match (1/6)
Draper smashed down 14 aces in his opening round win. Agustin Gomez, however, went one better. Draper’s return of serve has clearly been affected by his arm injury. And Bergs hit seven aces without reply in his first-round match. Draper’s game is improving so we expect him to return better against Bergs. That said, we think that both players will hit several aces and that the match will produce 15 or more.
