NFL Week 5 Sharp Money and Public Betting Report: All 14 Games Analysed

This is the game of the week at Lumen Field, with both teams 3-1 through their opening four games. The public is backing Tampa (63% of bets), but the money is leaning towards the Seahawks (56%), which has seen a market shift —a great sign that the bookies are concerned about the sharp bettors. Seattle at home has the edge, and even though we’re through a key number of the spread, it’s still one of the plays of the week, with a clear reverse line movement at play.

The sharps have gone heavy into the Chargers, with 74% of the money backing them at -3. The public slightly favours the Commanders, which doesn’t make a ton of sense given they were soundly beaten by the Falcons team that were 1-2 going into the game. The line on the Chargers has shifted from -1.5 to -3, which has slightly reduced confidence. However, with the Chargers' passing efficiency and the Commanders' secondary struggling to establish a foothold in games, the line is a value play for Week 5.

This is one of the more interesting markets of the week, as the public’s lean for Philly is only slight at 56%. Given they are 4-0, you’d imagine that to be much higher, but the sharps are opposing with 57% of the volume for them to cover the +3.5 spread. We’ve a strong RLM here and we’re catching the hook before it breaks through the key score of three.

The 7.5 spread has pushed the public to favour the Bills to make it five in a row, and this is mainly due to the surprisingly entertaining Patriots, who are 2-2 this season. A drop in the line from +8.5 to +7.5 has reduced our confidence, but while they sit above the +7 mark, this looks like another time to side with the 69% of sharp money that’s already been invested.
