We’ve passed the halfway point of the Regular Season, and as our NFL Week 9 sharp money and public betting report goes live for another week. Last week proved, once again, to be a profitable foray for our system, as we use the money to determine where the value picks are. A strike rate of 56.38% across the season has been a solid start, but the emphasis is on continuing to refine and improve for Week 9.
NFL Week 9 Public Betting and Sharp Money Cheat Sheet
As we begin to gain a better understanding of rosters and form, we’re noticing a consistent trend where the sharp money starts to follow the public in the markets. Best NFL Value Predictions for Week 9 – Top Picks
Similar to last week, we’ve a ton of games with high confidence ratings, but only two picks rated at 7+ that we want to hang our hats on. The upper tier is becoming less frequent, but this trend is likely to break as we move into the latter stages of the Regular Season.
| Game | Public vs Sharps | Best Play | Confidence | RLM |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Panthers @ Packers | Public: GB Sharps: CAR | Panthers +13.5 | 7.0 (Strong) | No |
| Broncos @ Texans | Public: DEN Sharps: HOU (lean) | Texans -1.5 | 7.0 (Strong) | No |
NFL Predictions for Week 9 – 7+ Confidence Rating
This seems like a huge line to clear for a team that limped home against the Steelers last week and come up against a more than decent Panthers side who are 4-4. The money has moved the line for the Packers from -7.5 to 13.5, which is highly significant. We’re buying low on a ballooned number that has sailed through two secondary keys (10 and 13). Panthers at +13.5 is where the value is right now, and this will only increase if this line continues to drift.
The public have stacked Denver here, shifting the spread from -1.5 to +1.5. The support is strong for the Texans to win at home, and we think it holds good value based on where the numbers have started and now land. Their pass rush should be too strong for the Broncos, and we like the Texans at -1.5, which is essentially saying we’re backing them to win at home. If you want a little more security, you could dip into the moneyline market for this to get a little more bang for your buck.
