Arne Slot’s Liverpool travel to the Etihad on Sunday to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in a monumental clash for both teams. It’s been a mixed start for the pair of them, and they already find themselves well adrift of Arsenal at the top of the table.
Defeat for City or Liverpool could find them as many as ten points behind the Gunners by the time we tuck into our roast dinners on Sunday evening. But a win could change the course of their respective seasons. It might not be a league decider, but even in November, this game feels huge as they try to patch over a less-than-impressive opening ten games.

Bet 1: Full Time Result – Man City
We’ve tipped Man City to get the job done as part of our Sunday acca tips, and we’re carrying that pick over into our bet builder as well. There’s never a huge amount between the sides, but Liverpool’s away form has been dire, losing their last three with their only two wins coming in a less-than-impressive 1-0 victory over Burnley and a 98th-minute winner against Newcastle back in August.
City have lost just once at the Etihad (0-2 vs. Tottenham in August), winning each of their last four games, conceding just two goals and scoring 13 in the process.
Running the numbers with our Kickform predictions for Man City vs Liverpool has a City win as the most probable result at 45%. Compare that with odds of 9/10 for this bet, and we’re getting almost 53% implied probability, which shows there is value here.
Bet 2: Erling Haaland to Score Anytime
Erling Haaland is going to go down as the greatest Premier League striker of all time. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t stay long enough to break Shearer’s record of 260 goals, he’s the best goalscorer we’ve ever seen on these shores, and he’s proving that in droves this season.
To date, he’s scored 13 goals in 10 Premier League games. To put that into context, that’s as many as Salah, Gravenberch, Ekitike, Gakpo and Isak combined. His total goals stats are quite ridiculous, and even though an 8/11 anytime scorer is very skinny, as part of a wider bet builder for the game, it still makes sense.
Bet 3: Over 2.5 Total Goals
This isn’t a game that historically produces a lot of goals, so you may question taking the over 2.5 goals. But stick with us on this.
City have covered the over 2.5 goals in 60% of their home games, and Liverpool in 80% of their away games. An important metric to consider for this is that Liverpool are at 70% for BTTS in all games, with only Brighton (80%) topping the Reds.
If we’re backing Liverpool to get a goal and City to win, then it clears the over 2.5 goal line. Liverpool’s issues have been at the back, and arguably, a lack of control in midfield. Again, we’re not in love with taking 1/2 for over 2.5 goals, but it’s a must-include if we’re backing a city win, if only based on the numbers.
Bet 4: Phil Foden 1+ Shots on Target
Regardless of whether you’re a City fan or not, it’s so good seeing Phil Foden getting back to near his best. Guardiola has shown an incredible amount of faith in the 25-year-old after a tough season last year, and Foden is starting to repay that good faith.
He’s got an excellent record against Liverpool, with six shots on target in his last four games against them. There’s an argument to take him as first to score at 7/1, given his double midweek in the Champions League against Dortmund, but we’ve opted to take 10/11 for 1+ shot on target as the play and the final part of our 4/1 Manchester City vs Liverpool bet builder tips.
