With the help of Kickform, our betting experts have studied the performances of the teams in the Champions League along with their domestic competitions to find these stats-based bets. Let’s have a look at the reasoning behind our choices.

Chelsea vs Barcelona: Marcus Rashford Anytime Goalscorer

Looking at this one, we are expecting goals. The statistics tell us that 75% of Chelsea’s Champions League games and all of Barcelona’s have seen over 2.5 goals. The stats read the same for BTTS. The bookies are expecting a goal-fest too, so we have looked at individual players to find the value. Marcus Rashford, who has four Champions League goals in four matches, is at 9/4 to get on the scoresheet, which we think is a good price. His haul includes a double at St James’ Park against Newcastle. We think that the England international will be keen to perform against another Premier League side, so we are backing him as an anytime goalscorer.

Manchester City vs Bayer Leverkusen: Man City to Win, Over 2.5 Goals

Manchester City sit fourth in the Champions League table with three wins and a draw. They have hit 10 goals in their four matches. Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing to Newcastle at the weekend, a result which leaves them seven points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Bayer Leverkusen are third in the Bundesliga and are 21st in the Champions League table with one win, one defeat and two draws from their four matches, scoring six goals and conceding 10.

City look full of goals at the moment and put four past Dortmund in their last home match in this competition. City are averaging 2.5 goals per game in the Champions League and 2.09 in the Premier League. Leverkusen are averaging 1.50 goals per game in the Champions League and 2.4 goals per match in the German topflight. We are going for a City win and at least three goals in the match.

Marseille vs Newcastle United: Over 9.5 Corners

Newcastle United travel to the south of France to face Marseille on the back of their best performance of the season on Saturday when they beat Manchester City 2-1. The Magpies’ form has been indifferent in the league so far this season, and they will be hoping that this result and the manner of the performance can start a push for the European places. In the Champions League and the EFL Cup, however, the results have been good. Their only away win of the season came in the Champions League, and United sit 6th in the table. However, a difficult task awaits them on Tuesday.

Marseille are second in Ligue 1, two points behind the leaders PSG. They have been full of goals, scoring 28 in 12 matches. In the Champions League, however, it has been a little different. They are 25th in the table with one win and three defeats, scoring six and conceding five.

It is the corner market which has caught our eye. 50% of Marseille's Champions League matches and 75% of Newcastle's have seen 10 or more corners. Newcastle have won 6.25 corners per Champions League game.

Domestically the corner count is high for both teams with Marseille winning an average of 5.33 corners per game in Ligue 1 and Newcastle winning an average of 5.45 corners per Premier League match. We are confident that there will be at least 10 flag kicks in this one.
