Friday night is almost upon us! For most, its trims sorted, outfits planned, taxis booked. Meanwhile, I’ve got 25 tabs open, stats everywhere, and I’m convincing myself I’ve found value in a £5 treble on Sunderland vs Nottingham Forest. Different kind of nightlife. Anyway, let’s get straight into it…
Sunderland vs Nottingham Forest Bet Builder
Bit of a rollercoaster this week. I managed to land a tidy 6/1 EFL acca on Tuesday and thought I was flying… then Man City decided to kill the mood with a measly 1-0 win over Burnley, messing up my 3/1 bet builder. Standard.
Nevertheless, I’m back with a treble ahead of Friday’s clash between Sunderland and Nottingham Forest. This is a massive game for the visitors, who could move eight points clear of the drop zone.

Bet 1: Nottingham Forest-Draw Double Chance
Seven games unbeaten, four match wins, a European semi-final on the horizon… if you told Forest fans that a few months ago, they would have prosecuted you for blasphemy.
Vitor Perreira has overseen a spectacular turnaround in results, including in the Premier League, where they smashed Spurs 3-0, earned a point against Aston Villa, and battered Burnley 4-1.
Sunderland, meanwhile, have been shaky at home, losing three of their last four at the Stadium of Light and drawing blanks in a couple of those.
Simply speaking, one team looks driven, the other doesn’t. Forest still have targets to hit, Sunderland don’t. With that in mind, I’m backing the visitors in the double chance market.
Bet 2: Morgan Gibbs-White Over 0.5 Shots on Target
Let’s not complicate things.
Morgan Gibbs-White to have at least one shot on target is a bet that has landed in 13 of the midfielder’s last 17 outings, giving this selection a 76% hit rate over that period of time.
If that wasn’t enough, the 26-year-old is coming into this game on the back of a hat-trick. Priced at 10/13, this bet is going straight in my treble.

Bet 3: Under 9.5 Corners
Only Wolves (108) have enjoyed fewer corners this season than Sunderland (118).
On top of that, the Black Cats have lost the corner count in seven of their previous nine home Premier League matches.
Forest, meanwhile, have enjoyed the set piece 21 times across their last five games, giving them an average of 4.2 per match.
However, 11 of those came against Midtjylland in the Europa League. Once you take that out of the equation, the average drops to 2.5 corners a game.
