Arsenal and Atletico Madrid go into the second leg of their semi-final with the tie delicately balanced. The Gunners are favourites, but on the evidence of the first leg, this one is too close to call. So, staying away from 1X2 and betting on which side will progress, I have compiled a great three-leg bet builder priced at 5/2.

Using the Kickform data from the Champions League, as well as the Premier League and La Liga, I have found three great stats-based picks to make a great bet builder at BetMGM.

Under 3.5 Goals

Arsenal’s success this season has been built on strong defence. Mikel Arteta’s side have only conceded six goals (0.46 per game) in their European campaign, keeping eight clean sheets. In the Premier League, they have shipped only 26 times in 35 matches, with only 11 conceded in 18 at home. Arteta’s counterpart, Diego Simeone, is known for his ability to organise a defence. That said, this season in the Champions League, they have given away more goals than usual and have been a little more free-scoring. But I am tipping Simeone to do what he has done over his 14 and a half years at Atleti in the 2nd leg at the Emirates, which is to find a way to make his side hard to beat. I would be surprised if there were four or more goals.

Over 9.5 Corners

Arsenal have won an average of 5.38 corners per game in the Champions League, while Atleti have averaged 5.53 per match. In their respective domestic leagues, the figures are 5.89 (Arsenal) and 6.32 (Atleti). Atletico’s Champions League matches have produced 10 or more corners, 53% of the time. The first leg produced only seven corners, with Arsenal, unusually, winning only one flag kick. It will be different on Tuesday with the Gunners at home.

Under 4.5 Cards

There is some value to be found in betting on cards in this one. Both teams, despite their reputations for competitiveness, have strong disciplinary records in Europe and domestically this season. Arsenal have averaged 1.62 cards per match in the Champions League, while Atletico have averaged slightly more (1.67). 85% of Arsenal’s games and 67% of Atleti’s have seen fewer than five cards awarded. In the Premier League, the Gunners have averaged only 1.29 cards per game, while in La Liga, Atleti have averaged 2.15 cards per game. 80% of Arsenal’s league fixtures and 62% of Atletico’s La Liga matches have produced fewer than five cards. I expect Tuesday night to be closely contested, but I expect both sides to be disciplined and streetwise enough to keep the card count low.

My 5/2 UCL Bet Builder is Live
