Bet 1: Both Teams to Score
Five of the last seven Europa League finals have seen both teams score, and I’m putting my hard-earned smackeroonies on that trend to continue.
The logic is simple. Both teams have been involved in high-scoring games over recent weeks, showing attacking strength and some serious defensive vulnerabilities.
Take Villa. Unai Emery’s side have scored exactly four goals in four of their last eight games, but they’ve also conceded freely — shipping three to Sunderland and two apiece against Tottenham, Burnley and Liverpool.
Freiburg have followed the same script. It’s been all gas and no breaks for the Breisgau Brazilians, who put three and four goals past Braga and RB Leipzig, but also shipped four against Borussia Dortmund and three more against Hamburger SV.
Bet 2: Ollie Watkins 1 or More Shots on Target
If Villa are to win this final, chances are Ollie Watkins will be right in the thick of the action.
The England striker has registered at least one shot on target in each of his last seven starts for Villa. What’s more, he produced a remarkable five shots on target against Liverpool last weekend.
Freiburg’s defence gives this bet extra weight, given that the Bundesliga side have conceded a whopping eight goals across their last three away matches.

Bet 3: Under 4.5 Cards
If league tables were based on total cards, both Freiburg and Aston Villa would be in the bottom three of their respective leagues.
The Bundesliga side have only picked up 53 bookings in 34 league games, while Villa are on 59 from 37 outings.
Simply speaking, these aren’t dirty teams with a reputation for trouble, and I’m not expecting that to change in Istanbul.
