Two wrestling giants collide this Sunday as American promotion AEW goes head-to-head with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in San Jose, California. To spice things up, I found two tasty bets that should be in your bet slip.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Best Bets
William Hill, who are one of the best online bookies, don’t disappoint when it comes to wrestling markets. What does disappoint, however, are the wrestling bookers, who have put together a very predictable show.
Nevertheless, I have gone through the entire card and picked out two bets. One of them is a juicy 6/1 shot. Let’s dive in.
| Market | Odds (Bookmaker) | Return for £10 |
|---|---|---|
| Zack Sabre Jr to Beat Kenny Omega | 6/1 (William Hill) | £70.00 |
| Team Briscoe to Beat Team MJF | 1/7 (William Hill) | £11.43 |

Bet 1: Zack Sabre Jr to Beat Kenny Omega
Kenny Omega is priced as heavy favourite to win this upcoming match with Zack Sabre Jr, and that shouldn’t come as a major surprise.
Omega doesn’t tend to lose many matches, and when he does, there’s often a very good reason.
I believe this weekend marks one of those reasons. A win for Sabre Jr would represent a major push, and it’s a push that the 38-year-old Brit truly deserves.
Omega can take a loss here and it wouldn't put a dent in his trajectory. In fact, many anticipate he could get a world title rematch with MJF at AEW Redemption.
Bearing all that in mind, I fancy the 6/1 bet on Sabre Jr to get the job done.

Bet 2: Team Briscoe to Beat Team MJF
One of the problems with this latest AEW card is the fact most of these matches are so one sided. The steel cage main event follows that trend.
The stipulation for this match is simple. If Team Briscoe win, then Mark Briscoe will get an AEW world title shot against MJF.
This feels very much like a transitional feud before the AEW bosses put MJF and Kenny Omega into one tasty rivalry.
With that in mind, I’m expecting Team Briscoe to win this weekend, with Mark Briscoe going on to eventually lose his title shot against MJF.
