While Tottenham ushered in the new Premier League season with a disastrous outing at Brentford, Newcastle surpassed expectations with a classy display against Liverpool. Both these teams go head-to-head on Saturday night, and I’ve picked out four bets to challenge the bookies.

Bet 1: Yoane Wissa 1 or More Shots on Target

How good was Yoane Wissa against Liverpool? The 29-year-old caused the Reds all kinds of problems and even had four shots during the match – including one on target.

Wissa only got 521 minutes of Premier League football last season, which was clearly not enough to prove what he is capable of.

Having scored 19 goals in the 2024/25 campaign, we know that Wissa has goals in him. Perhaps it’s just a matter of time before he starts to rattle the net for the Magpies.

In the meantime, I’m backing the DR Congo international to have at least one shot on target against Spurs.

Bet 2: Both teams to score – Yes

Tottenham enjoyed a much-needed confidence booster in the form of a 5-1 victory over Charlton in the EFL Cup.

Spurs have spent big money over the summer and the pressure to perform is mounting on Roberto De Zerbi’s men… especially after that 3-0 thumping away at Brentford.

Anyway, both teams to score is a bet worth considering here, given it landed in both meetings last season.

Both teams proved they can find the back of the net in recent cup games, making this an easy addition to my bet builder.

Bet 3: Under 11.5 Corners

Despite their tremendous performance against Liverpool last weekend, Newcastle only had two corner kicks.

Tottenham, on the other hand, have three during their loss at Brentford.

Last season Spurs averaged five corner kicks per match, while the Magpies had six. Bearing those numbers in mind, I’m backing the under 11.5 corners bet.

Bet 4: Antonin Kinsky 3+ Saves

Tottenham’s home form last season was nothing short of catastrophic. Three wins was all that Spurs could manage in front of their home fans – a tally which left them 18th in the home Premier League table.

Breaking that run against Newcastle will not be easy, and I’m expecting Antonin Kinsky to have a busy night.

The Spurs keeper is priced at 1/2 to have three or more saves. I’m more than happy to add that to my bet builder.

It’s worth noting this bet not only landed against Brentford but also during Wednesday’s win over Charlton.
