With no midweek Premier League fixtures, the Football League comes into focus, and I have six of the best for you. My 6-fold acca is priced at 56/1 and each bet is a realistic shout with data to support it. Yes, a lot of things need to drop into place, but that’s part of the fun. Let’s get into it.

Championship: Birmingham City vs Southampton – Southampton to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

I’m kicking things off by going for an away win and over 2.5 goals. The Saints came into the season with something of a Spygate-induced hangover and after an away win at Colchester in the Carabao Cup they lost their opening Championship fixture at Watford. They have then beaten Stoke 3-1 and Millwall, who were the league leaders, 5-1 and despite a Carabao Cup loss to West Ham, they seem to be back in business. Kickform give the away side a 45% chance of victory and I think they will come away with the points. All of Southampton’s games and 67% of Birmingham’s matches have seen three or more goals. I think this will be the case on Tuesday. 3/1 with Betfred, one of the best online bookies is a good price.

Championship: Lincoln City vs Blackburn Rovers – Lincoln to Win

Lincoln City got off the mark in the Championship with a 1-0 win at Bolton over the weekend. They will be desperate to notch their first home win and I think that they will get it against an injury-hit Blackburn Rovers. Tony Mowbray’s side try to play attractive football but can come unstuck against a direct approach. The Imps will be keen to get the ball forward quickly and could overwhelm the visitors.

Championship: Stoke City vs Norwich City – BTTS: Yes

All of Stoke’s Championship matches have seen both teams score, and this has been the case in 50% of Norwich’s matches. With a total of 23 goals in the six Championship games involving the two sides this season, I am confident of goals at either end.

Championship: West Ham United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers – BTTS: Yes

The Hammers may be pre-season favourites to win the Championship, but things have not gone according to plan for my tip for the title. Wolves have made a better start in their quest to regain Premier League status; however, one thing the two sides have in common is games full of goals. Wolves have scored nine and shipped four while West Ham have scored four and shipped five. The Kickform stats show that both teams have a 100% record for both teams scoring. Like Stoke against Norwich, I am confident of goals at each end.

League One: Bromley vs Leyton Orient – Under 2.5 Goals

Last weekend saw both sides involved in high-scoring games. I see these as being the exception rather than the rule. The other matches involving the two sides have been low scoring. Bromley don’t give much away at home and I’m expecting less than three goals.

League Two: Cheltenham Town vs York City – Double Chance York

Cheltenham have made a decent start to the season; however, York are flying on their return to the Football League. The Minstermen are unbeaten and sit third in the table. I am expecting a tight match, but I am backing York to come away with something.
