Bet 1: Both Teams to Score
I promised to take a statistical approach, and I’m sticking to it.
BTTS is a bet that has landed in five of previous six meetings between these clubs.
Newcastle saw both teams score in their first two competitive games of the season, before keeping a clean sheet against Tottenham.
In fairness, that was Spurs. They’re an odd bunch so I’ll ignore that one.
Bournemouth are far more reliable, with BTTS landing in both of their opening Premier League games. I’m sticking with the trend.
Bet 2: Over 3.5 Cards
Newcastle might not be top of the actual Premier League table (yet), but they are currently topping the charts for yellow cards.
The Magpies have seven bookings to their name from two games, suggesting they’re not afraid to get stuck in.
The same goes for Bournemouth. The Cherries picked up five yellow cards across their opening two matches.
It’s also worth noting that this bet landed in four of previous five Premier League meetings between these clubs.
Bet 3: Anthony Elanga 1+ Shots on Target
Let’s face it, Anthony Elanga has made a super start for Newcastle this season, scoring against both Liverpool and Spurs.
The Sweden international has been terrorising defenders on that right flank. What’s more, he has chipped in with three shots on target – already one more than he managed in entirety of last season.
I was tempted to back Elanga in the anytime goalscorer market, but in the end, I decided to play it safe, and simply back the forward to land a shot on target.
