Saturday saw San Antonio Spurs finally edge past defending Champions Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 in the deciding leg of the best-of-seven series. It is the Spurs’ first final since 2014, and they will come up against a side who have endured an even longer wait: Eastern Conference Champions the New York Knicks. The last time the Knicks made the final was 1999, when, by coincidence, their opponents were San Antonio. 27 years ago, the Spurs won in five games to collect their maiden title. The Knicks have not won a championship since 1973 and will be desperate to bring back the glory days of the early 70s. It promises to be a hugely exciting series in June 2026, and I have unearthed three great bets ahead of the action starting on 04 June.

Jalen Brunson New York Knicks
I'm backing Jalen Bronson to be named MVP for the NBA Finals.

NBA Finals 2026 Knicks vs Spurs Series Best Bets

MarketOdds at MyStakePoints
NBA Playoffs Winners: New York Knicks 33/20
When Will the Series End? 7 Games 19/10
NBA Finals MVP: Jalen Brunson 21/10 0.5

Odds correct at 12:45 BST on 01/06/2026. Odds subject to change.

I have looked at the way the regular season and the playoffs have gone so far in 2025/26 and have made three value bets based on this information. Mystake, one of the best international betting sites, offer great prices on the three markets I’ve gone for.

NBA Playoffs Winners: New York Knicks

The Spurs are considered favourites, and they are an up-and-coming team full of promise. However, I fancy the Knicks to upset the odds. The Eastern Conference winners are on an 11-game winning streak and have enjoyed an easier path through the playoffs to the finals. They took Cleveland out in four games, meaning that they will come into the series against the Spurs well rested and well prepared. The Knicks met the Spurs three times in the regular season winning twice and losing narrowly on the other occasion.  The Knicks have got it right tactically in their meetings with San Antonio and they have frustrated their opponents and forced a high number of turnovers.

Spurs, inspired by Victor Wembanyama, look like they are serious NBA title contenders over the next few years, but their gruelling seven-game shoot-out with the Oklahoma City Thunder may just prove to be their undoing. I think that the odds for the Knicks to win at Mystake and other top offshore bookies are great value, and I am backing them to lift the trophy.

When Will the Series End? 7 Games

It looks to me like it will be a tight series of games that goes right to the wire. While the Spurs are the favourites on paper, they clearly find the Knicks a difficult side to play against. I am backing the series to go the distance.

NBA Finals MVP: Jalen Brunson

Victor Wembanyama is the bookie’s favourite to be named the Finals MVP. The Frenchman has a unique combination of height, agility, and technical skills, making him one of the most complete players in basketball and, at 22-years-old, the game’s next superstar. However, given that I am backing the Knicks to win, I’m going for Jalen Brunson to land the top individual accolade. Wembanyama’s time will come but I feel that the odds for Brunson are better value and that 2026 could well be his year.   The Point Guard has been vital to the Knicks’ 2025 NBA Cup win and to their run to the NBA Finals this season. Brunson has racked up a huge amount of points and assists, and he draws a vast number of fouls from opponents. He averaged 26 points in the three games against San Antonio this season and is clearly a man the Spurs find difficult to play against. Brunson sets the tone for the Knicks, dictating the tempo and should New York triumph then the skipper is likely to be named the Finals MVP.
