Fourth-placed Aston Villa host fifth-placed Liverpool, with both sides locked together on 59 points with two matches remaining, four points clear of Bournemouth in sixth. With a top-five position bringing a Champions League berth, you could be forgiven for thinking that we are set for a Friday night thriller at the Villa. However, the reality is a little different. Unai Emery’s side have the little matter of a Europa League final on the horizon while Liverpool have struggled for consistency all campaign. Taking this into account, I have compiled a 7/4 bet builder to kickstart the weekend.

No Expiry Date
After studying the data from Kickform and after looking at recent form, I have come up with three great value bets to form my bet builder with Coral, one of the best football betting sites in the UK. I stayed away from player props on this one, as I am unsure as to whether Villa will rest players ahead of their date in Istanbul.
Double Chance: Draw or Liverpool
Earlier in the season, I would have made Villa favourites. However, their Premier League form has dropped off somewhat, with two losses and only one win in their last five league matches. Liverpool have won three of their last five; however, their last two games saw a defeat to Manchester United and an unimpressive home draw against Chelsea.
Kickform only give the home side a 36% chance of winning, with a Liverpool win at 45% and a draw at 19%. Liverpool can only secure Champions League football through league position, and Arne Slot’s side will be desperate to finish in the top five to salvage something from an underwhelming campaign. On the other hand, Villa would prefer to win on Friday night, but Europa League specialist Unai Emery may well prioritise the final, given that it brings a trophy and a Champions League place. I am not confident enough to back Liverpool to win, but I think that they will come away with something.
BTTS: Yes
The stats point towards goals at both ends. Both teams have scored in 56% of Villa’s games and in 67% of Liverpool’s matches. Four of Villa’s last five league games have seen both teams score, and Liverpool’s last four matches have seen goals at both ends. Kickform give a 66% chance of both teams scoring, and I am going for this for the second leg of my bet builder.
Over 8.5 Corners
I have had a mixed time with the corner market lately. But the stats point towards a high corner count. 75% of Villa’s matches and 72% of Liverpool’s have seen nine or more corners. This goes to 89% for Villa’s home games and 67% for Liverpool’s away games. Villa have won an average of 5.31 corners per match while Liverpool have won an average of 5.81 flag kicks. I expect there to be nine corners or more on Friday evening.
