Bet 1: Xander Schauffele Top 10 Finish
Xander Schauffele is no stranger to this event having claimed the title back in 2022, finishing two strokes ahead of JT Poston and Sahith Theegala.
In recent months, the American has enjoyed a smattering of solid performances, including an 11th place finish at the US Open, seventh at the PGA Championship, ninth at the Masters, and even a podium finish at the Players Championship.
Schauffele has only managed one win on the PGA Tour across the last two years, and I’m not expecting the 32-year-old to suddenly change that.
However, with the TPC River Highlands course leaning to a lot of his strengths, there’s no reason why he can’t secure a top 10 finish. Priced at 13/8, I’m adding this to my bet slip.
Bet 2: Sam Burns Top 20 Finish
Sam Burns will be absolutely buzzing as he arrives in Connecticut on the back of his second-placed finish at the US Open.
Despite not winning a PGA Tour event in over three years, Burns has delivered several standout performances, namely his seventh-place finish at the Masters, fourth at the Memorial Tournament, and even a recent top 20 finish at the RBC Canadian Open.
Playing in the feature group alongside Scottie Scheffler will only serve as a boost for Burns, who possesses a lot of the skills necessary for success on the TPC River Highlands course.

Bet 3: Scottie Scheffler Top 5 Finish
Okay, I agree. I’m not exactly pushing the boat out with this selection. However, I can’t ignore a Scheffler top five finish when the bookies are offering 21/20 odds.
With eight top 5 finishes in 13 starts, this feels like an obvious addition to any bet slip.
Scheffler won this event in 2024, edging South Korea’s Tom Kim in a playoff. He also bagged a top six finish a year later.
