2026 MotoGP Betting Tips
Our MotoGP betting tips are live ahead of the 2026 season, with a couple of value bets to get things warmed up. If you’re looking to do a bit of digging yourself, there are three testing weekends before the opener in Thailand, with the first being the Sepang Shakedown (29-31 Jan), Sepang Test (3-5 Feb) and the Buriram Test (21-22 Feb). We should know more after these, but for now, these are our picks.
Marc Marquez to Win the MotoGP World Championship 2026
Ducati and Marc Marquez have the chance to become one of the most dominant combinations in MotoGP history. The Spaniard is already one of the all-time greats, with seven titles to his name, and he’s odds on to equal the record set by Giacomo Agostini with eight wins come the end of the season.
The changes this year, adding sprint races across all 22 weekends, only add to his advantage. Ducati have not only produced a quick bike, but also a reliable one, and that’s a deadly combo with so many points up for grabs this season.
Granted, this isn’t the most inspiring of picks given his MotoGP title odds, but even odds-on, he’s the man to beat, and it’s hard to see who will get near.
Marco Bezzechi to Finish Top 3 in the Championship
Aprilia did an incredible job last season, helping Marco Bezzechi to third place in the Drivers’ Championship. Three wins, nine podiums and five poles were an impressive ROI, and we’re backing the Italian to feature strongly in 2026.
Testing in Valencia saw Bezzechi finish second, indicating that the Aprilia has a strong baseline once again. It’ll be interesting to see how reliability holds up, but there’s no doubt that the pace is there.
The bookies have him well priced to win his first championship, but it’s tough to see how he will get the better of Marquez enough times to challenge consistently. That said, he’ll be knocking on the door, and that should be enough for back-to-back top-three finishes.
Most Popular MotoGP Betting Markets
The popularity of the sport continues to rise, with record-breaking numbers in 2025 that saw over 3.6 million attendees and TV viewership increased by 9%. The bookies are latching onto this, and they’re producing more markets than ever with MotoGP betting odds. Here’s a look at the key ones to look out for in 2026.
The most popular MotoGP betting market and the easiest to bet on; simply pick which rider you think will win the race, and away you go.
This is a long-term outright bet on the rider with the most points at the end of the season. The earlier you can get in on this market, the more value there is in the MotoGP Championship betting odds.
Bet on a rider to finish in the top three. It doesn’t matter in what order, and you don’t get more if your rider wins, paying the same for all three results.
Bookies will create random head-to-head bets where you need to pick the rider that finishes higher in the race. For 2026, Marc and Alex Marquez head-to-head markets should make fascinating viewing.
Pick the rider who you think will have the fastest lap of the race. This isn’t always the race winner, so look to see who has the pace but maybe not the reliability to win.
Betting on pole position is all about qualifying. You need to pick the rider who comes first in qualifying for this bet to come in.
In races where one rider looks set to be dominant, the winning margin odds in MotoGP can offer good value. This is usually an over/under market where you bet on the time between first and second place once the chequered flag drops.

Key Riders to Watch
Marc Marquez
There’s no doubt that Marc Marquez is, once again, the man to beat this year. The Spaniard is in search of a record-equalling eighth title, and based on early-season testing alone, it’s tough to suggest that he won't make it. His Ducati was purring last year, and even though he missed the final two rounds through injury, he still romped home to the World Championship. Odds won’t be pretty with this pick, but it’s hard to look elsewhere right now.
Alex Marquez
There aren’t many sports where two brothers are the best in their discipline, but that’s exactly what we’ve got with Alex and Marc Marquez. For Alex, his consistency was impressive throughout 2025, and he’s had a super-strong winter testing, finishing up P3 in Valencia. Can he finally get the better of his brother? Probably not, but he’s the next cab off the rank and box office to watch.
Pedro Acosta
Outside of the top two, there’s a flurry of riders who are chomping at the bit to break up the brothers, and few are more talented than Pedro Acosta. An honourable fourth-place finish in 2025 laid some great foundations on his Red Bull KTM, and a P5 finish in Valencia in 2026 testing shows that pace hasn’t let up. He has the one-lap speed, but he just needs to transfer that to race pace, and his MotoGP odds of 16/1 could be the value bet of the season.
MotoGP Championship Trends & Stats
In the MotoGP era (2002 – 2025), only nine riders have won the 24 titles up for grabs, indicating that breakout winners are rare. In fact, Marquez and Valentino Rossi have won 13 between them, accounting for 54.2% in total.
To add to that, title defences are common, with a successful defence occurring nine times out of 24 (39%). This is one of the main reasons why Marquez is such a short-priced favourite to go back-to-back this year. And of course, the fact that he’s one of the greatest riders to have lived.
For the constructors, well, this has been dominated by Honda (12/24), Ducati (7/24) and Yamaha (5/24). Only Japanese and Italian teams have won in this period, and this trend looks set to continue for 2026, barring a huge upset.
