Tour of Britain Betting Tips

We may be far away from the event, but the Tour of Britain betting tips are always relevant and useful. We’ve got a few tips that will come in handy when you decide to bet on the competition.

Bet on form

In a sport like racing, form plays a major role in how well a racer is doing. The major tournaments before the Tour of Britain could provide clues as to who could become a favourite for the event.

In-play betting

With six stages across six days, it is an excellent event to place in-play bets. Make sure to back the racers who did well the day before but will want to improve on their Tour of Britain results.

Tour of Britain Favourites

It’s early days, and the full list of riders hasn’t been revealed yet. Nor have there been any Tour of Britain odds released to confirm a favourite. But, with our keen eye, here’s who we think will be taking centre stage this year.

Wout van Aert

One of the most complete cyclists out there, Van Aert is one of only four Tour of Britain winners to win the competition twice in the event’s history. Can he go for a third? He’ll certainly be up there, and we expect him to perform at his very best after a tricky time with injuries in 2024.

Simon Yates

A British powerhouse on hot form right now, Yates is the reigning Giro d’Italia champion and will surely be a favourite when he is racing in his own backyard. Yates joined the Visma–Lease a Bike team in 2025 and has been doing great.

Stephen Williams

The Tour of Britain reigning champion, Williams, will undoubtedly be a favourite yet again. He hasn’t won anything major in 2025, but this is a great opportunity to bet on someone who has the skill but may be seen as a slight underdog due to his form.

Tour of Britain Route

Understanding the Tour of Britain route is a key part of betting on the event, especially for in-play betting, since certain areas can be a challenge for some, or a breeze for others.

Stopping short of a Tour of Britain route map, we’ve got the key details on each stage of the course.

With a race as big as this, the number of markets offered by the best bookies can be overwhelming, so here are the ones we’d suggest. You might even be able to find the best Tour of Britain betting odds implied in these markets.

Bet on who you think will win the entire Tour of Britain. It’s a classic, and with over 100 cyclists, it’s a tough market. The odds will be high, so you’ll need to do your research before placing this bet.

It’s a sort of outright bet, but just for the individual stages. It gives you more chances to bet on a winner, and you can bet on racers winning any stage or a specific stage.

Both outright markets will offer the option to use each-way betting. It’s an added safety net, as if your cyclist doesn’t win, but finishes in the top places, you can still win a fraction of your stake.

Instead of betting on a winner, bookies will choose two racers and put them head-to-head. You just need to bet on who you think will win between the two.

Bet on the team that will finish at the top of the classification. Looking for teams with consistently strong racers will undoubtedly be your best bet.

You can bet on a cyclist to finish in the top 3, 5 or 10 of a stage, or even the entire competition. It’s a safer bet than an outright and can still offer some enticing odds.

Going with bet365 for a smooth ride

Jeremy Fournier: while all bookies have something to offer, the great depth of markets, and frequent bet boosts by bet365 are too good to miss. They are my go-to for Tour of Britain cycling betting, although I do like William Hills’ #YourBet offer too.

The Tour of Britain is a six-day and six-stage racing event, competed from September 02 to September 07, across the length of the UK. It’s contested by some of the world's best teams and takes place in the same month every year.

The course comprises of three hilly stages, and another three flat stages, making it a good race for all-rounders. The first three stages are hilly and favour climbers, but the last three flat stages favour sprinters offering the opportunities to break away from the peloton.

The race started in 1945, but was stopped in 1999, before becoming the official Tour of Britain in 2004. It now forms part of the UCI ProSeries and is a major race in the build up to the World Championship.

The official lineup has not been released yet, and while there isn’t an exact that confirmed yet. From experience, we can say that we should know the teams at least one month before the event. So, we’re expecting to see a team list in the beginning of August.
