Tom Pidcock has produced two great performances in the opening two stages of La Vuelta to catapult himself into contention at the sharp end of one of world cycling’s most prestigious tours. While Pidcock’s performances may have come as a surprise to many the Yorkshireman, who has been in good form this year, has, according to Cyclingnews, got his sights set on stage wins at La Vuelta.
Pidock secured a stage win once earlier this year in the Tour of Norway. On Saturday he caught the eye at La Vuelta with an impressive ninth place finish in the opening stage. He then backed this up on the second stage by taking 10th place, leaving him fifth overall in the standings.

Look Out for Pidcock on the Climbs
Pidcock is a versatile rider with a background in mountain biking and cyclo-cross. This makes him incredibly strong on the climbs, and it also gives him the confidence to attack downhill sections aggressively. In his current form, he is worth considering on hilly stages.
