Golden Globes Predictions
We’ve been trawling through the Golden Globes 2026 odds for several weeks to try and see where the value lies. Truth be told, it’s tough at this stage of the year to know who or what to bet on, but from what we’ve seen, there’s value to be had. Here’s a look at our early Golden Globe predictions for 2026 with prices from the best novelty betting sites.
Ne Zha 2 to win Best Animated Feature
It’s tough to think of a scenario that will topple China’s mythical blockbuster Ne Zha 2 for Best Animated Feature. It’s grossed over £2.5 billion this year alone, almost double that of the next best. There’s no doubt its cult following has been the driving force behind Reuters naming it the highest-grossing animated film of all time, and even though most are watching using subtitles, there’s certainly not a language barrier penalty at play here. It’s a market that often defaults to Disney or Pixar, but we think 2026 is the year of change, and it’s Ne Zha 2 that is leading that change.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery to Win Best Musical/Comedy
If you’ve not had the chance to go and see Rian Johnson’s brilliant Glass Onion (2022) and the original, Knives Out (2019), stop reading and go watch. He’s quickly become the ultimate whodunit machine, and the Globes love him for it. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is due for release in December 2025, so we’re foreseeing a little here, but the return of Benoit Blanc, played by former 007 Agent Daniel Craig, already feels like a hit. It’s packed with stars like Cailee Spaeny, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Josh Brolin and Glenn Close, to name just a few. Its late release date should supercharge any campaign momentum, and if the Golden Globes winner odds are kind, this could be the value bet of the year.
F1 to Win Best Motion Picture Drama
Joseph Kosinski has managed to do what we thought wasn’t possible: create a sports-based movie that appeals to the masses. Sure, having Brad Pitt will help hit a certain demographic even if he was dressed in a bin bag standing on top of a rock for 90 minutes, but F1 is a genuine contender this year. Kosinski is on a bit of a roll following the success of Top Gun: Maverick, and F1 feels like the kind of film the Globes sometimes rally behind. It’ll likely drift in price as we get nearer the end of the year, if only because of recency bias, but if its Golden Globes odds get up toward 5/1 or higher, this makes it very backable and worth a nibble.
Most Popular Type of Bet on the Golden Globes
The Golden Globes are one of the biggest award ceremonies of the year for film and TV, so it’s a big deal. And because of this, the bookies go to town in terms of coverage. There will, of course, be odds for Golden Globes categories, but we wanted to look at some of the more niche and specialist markets to show you how they work as well.
Pretty straightforward; this is the total number of awards won, and the market is usually an over/under line. For example, F1 to win over/under 3.5 awards.
This market is betting on the film that wins the most awards on the night. There are lots of categories, so the numbers can sharpish rack up.
The opening monologues have been made famous in recent years by Ricky Gervais’ uncensored approach. Topics might include politics, streaming, AI, etc and can be highly controversial, but fun to bet on.
If you think the floodgates are going to open from one of the winners, then you can make your pick. Generally, this market covers the leading actors up for the top awards.
They change this up most years, but you can bet on which category will get called out first.

Our Strategies for Betting on the Golden Globes
We’ve already given a preview of our own Golden Globe winner predictions, but now we want to show you how to find value on your own. View this as an insight into our betting strategy and how we anticipate the voting will unfold this year.
Don’t Ignore the Big Earners
Since 2024, the Globes have added Cinematic and Box Office Achievement as part of their voting criteria. For me and you, this is all about the films that have made the most dough. They typically go for broad crowd pleasers; think Bohemian Rhapsody winning best drama while grossing £600 million and La La Land pinging seven awards with similar box office numbers. If you’re stuck between two titles for one award, using box office numbers is a great tiebreaker.
Later Films Have an Advantage
Recency bias is a thing. Voting doesn’t close until December, so anything released later in the year will benefit from this. Track films with Q4 release dates and see if you can gauge their popularity from how many are talking about it. We’ve used this very strategy this year for Wake Up Dead Man, which has a December 2025 release date, but already created a cult following from earlier iterations.
Check the ‘Form’ in Early Festivals
Venice, Telluride and Toronto festivals are great barometers to see who might go well at the Globes. If there’s a film or series that generates a lot of buzz and hype, then you know you’re onto a winner. Tie this to a Q4 release, and it’s ticking a lot of boxes for solid Golden Globe awards predictions, which you can combine with a free bet for a bit of added value.
What Are the Golden Globe Awards?
Put simply, the Golden Globes is one of the biggest film and TV award ceremonies of the year. It’s a chance to celebrate everything good in the world of Hollywood, and it’s seen as a major precursor to Oscars betting, with many of the candidates from this going for the top prize a few months later.
While it’s still a huge accolade, it’s a lot more laid back than most. The night is spent at dinner tables, where the stars wine and dine, and generally the host is there to entertain, rather than just introduce the awards.
Voting is done by 300+ international entertainment journalists from 85+ countries, so awards are given out by peers, rather than, say, a public or closed vote. It makes Golden Globe predictions quite hard to pick, but that’s not always a bad thing when you consider that there are usually only one or two from each category that can plausibly win the Oscars and the Emmy Awards, respectively.
What Are the Main Categories for the Golden Globes?
There are dozens of awards up for grabs at the Globes. Ricky Gervais famously spoke out on stage about how long the ceremony took (4+ hours), and that’s because a lot is going on. Below, we’ve got all the main categories along with the latest odds on the Golden Globes for each. We will keep this updated as best we can in the lead-up.

What Influences the Golden Globes Odds?
Voting moved away from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) in 2023 and is now made up of more than 300 international entertainment journalists. As a result, the voting is a lot fairer, and the Golden Globe odds are less erratic.
Two key areas that influence the betting odds on the Golden Globes are category placement and recency. Sometimes, super-strong films with huge box office numbers are all grouped in one category, and then in others, there might only be one or two standouts. The odds will fluctuate the most in December, once the final lineups are revealed.
When is the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards Ceremony?
The 83rd Golden Globes is on Sunday, 11th January 2026. It’s held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California and accommodates around 1,300 people on the night.
