Northern Ireland’s away form is a massive concern as they begin their programme of World Cup qualifiers, with only one win in 12 on their travels. However, the current squad will be mindful that they came unstuck in Luxembourg back in 2013, with the BBC running an article on that match, which ironically preceded one of the best spells in Northern Ireland’s recent history.
We think that O’Neill’s team will have enough to get through. Firstly, the Northern Irish have a performer of genuine quality in Liverpool’s Conor Bradley. They also have young players with potential such as Trai Hume and Shea Charles along with several seasoned pros from the EFL Championship. In Isaac Price they have a man capable of scoring goals from midfield at international level.
Furthermore, Luxembourg have only scored five goals in their last 10 internationals, drawing a blank in six of those games. We think that Northern Ireland will find a way to get over the line.

We’ve already touched on this when talking about the match as a whole. Luxembourg is having real problems in finding the net. Bet 3: Isaac Price Any Time Scorer (11/4)
West Brom midfielder Price is in fine goalscoring form with three goals in four matches for his club this season. At international level Price has scored nine goals in 22 for Northern Ireland. Price notched in his country’s victory over Iceland in June and also found the net against Sweden and Switzerland this year. He was on target in the 2-2 draw with Luxembourg in the Nations League last November and we fancy him to repeat the trick on Thursday.
