Dani Dyer Withdraws From Strictly: Ankle Injury Sees 9/2 2nd Favourite Pull Out
The BBC announced that Dani Dyer, 29, withdrew from the show after a fall during rehearsals on Friday. A scan over the weekend confirmed that the star, who made her name on Survival of the Fittest and Love Island, had fractured her ankle. She becomes the second celebrity to pull out of the show this year following the withdrawal of Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn in August.
Before the injury, the broadcaster was thought to be a major contender to win this year. She had made a promising start to her partnership with Nikita and was the second favourite, best priced at 9/2 with Betfred, one of the UK’s best online bookmakers. Lewis Cope remains favourite to win the hit show with George Clarke and Vicky Pattison next in the betting in the absence of Dyer.
Who Will Replace Dani Dyer in the Strictly Line-Up?
It is yet to be confirmed whether the BBC will draft in a replacement for Dani Dyer after her withdrawal. According to The Mirror, actress Tillie Amartey, best known for Waterloo Road, could be drafted in to pair up with Nikita.
