Would Bayern consider selling Harry Kane?
A potential move to Barcelona would almost mirror Robert Lewandowski’s switch from Bayern to the Camp Nou. Lewandowski left Munich at 33, became a key figure in the Barca attack and delivered high-level performances for several seasons.
Harry Kane’s transfer to Barcelona cannot be ruled out. Lewandowski’s contract expires this summer and reports in Spain suggest that an extension is not currently on the table. The Polish striker has suffered two injuries already this season and is still without a Champions League goal.
Kane’s current market value sits around £65m. For comparison, Barcelona signed Lewandowski for £40m. Nevertheless, it is important to note that any Harry Kane transfer would trigger Bayern’s fixed release clause of £57m.
Kane is under contract at Bayern until summer 2027, and according to numerous media reports, he is expected to remain at the club until then.
Bayern’s system is built heavily around Kane. Both club and player have repeatedly shut down transfer rumours, stressing how happy they are with the current arrangement. In fact, Bayern may even look to extend Kane’s deal early to avoid a free transfer in 2027.
There is no doubt that Kane’s exit would hit Bayern hard. After Lewandowski’s departure, the club went through a turbulent period and even lost the Bundesliga title a year later.
Kane’s outrageous Bundesliga numbers in 2025/26:
-
13 goals and three assists in 10 Bundesliga matches
-
Five goals in four Champions League games
-
Four goals in two DFB-Pokal appearances
-
One goal in the DFL Supercup

Will Harry Kane return to Tottenham?
Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with their legendary former striker. Kane scored 280 goals in all competitions for Spurs between 2009 and 2023, but he never won a major trophy with the club.
The lack of silverware became a running joke in England and reportedly created tensions with then-chairman Daniel Levy. With the former boss now gone, the door appears wide open for a possible return. Priced at 12/1 with bet365, Tottenham are certainly contenders for his signature.
Harry Kane on brink of Premier League scoring record
With 213 Premier League goals, Kane is second in the all-time scoring charts. He needs 47 more to catch Alan Shearer. If Kane wants to break that record and secure immortality in English football, a return to the English top-flight would need to happen sooner rather than later.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has already admitted he would welcome Kane back immediately. Financially, Spurs could also make it work.
However, there is a major drawback.
Returning to Tottenham offers no guarantee of trophies. Even with Kane, the squad is not built to win the Premier League in the current climate. Worse still, if he struggled or failed to replicate his Bayern form, he could damage the legacy he built in North London.
