Having beaten Scotland by five wickets on Saturday, England’s cricketers found themselves second in Group C ahead of West Indies v Nepal on Sunday in the same group. They can qualify with a win against Italy in their final group stage match, played once again at Eden Gardens on Monday. We have all the best bets.

England's T20 World Cup Team

England needed to win their game against Scotland to remain in charge of their own destiny. Having duly done that, they will now be fully focused on putting Italy away and progressing to the Super 8 stage.

At worst, England have been poor at the T20 World Cup, just about beating Nepal before losing to the West Indies. At best, they’re warming up and feeling their way into this tournament, with a big win against Italy now expected.

Bet 1: Batter Match Runs – Jos Buttler – Over 30.5

England’s big-hitting openers haven’t truly fired yet, but Buttler will come to the party soon enough. He’s averaging 16.66 so far, but he remains a player who can start big and take the game away from the opposition. To score 31 runs or more isn’t too much to ask of him on Monday.

Buttler scored 26 from 17 balls in England’s opening match, then another 21 from 14 against the West Indies. He was out early against Scotland, but this match is a little different and we can see him hammering a few into the stands early doors.

Bet 2: Batter Milestones – Harry Brook – 20+ Runs

The captain has managed 74 runs in the competition so far, averaging 24.66 at a strike-rate of 148%. England will be naturally aggressive at the crease, so even if they happen to bat second and don’t have a massive target, wickets will fall, and we’ll get down at least to Brook at number five, so he will have his chance.

Brook hit a typically impressive 53 runs against Nepal, managing another 17 against the West Indies. He was out cheaply against Scotland, but he obviously has more than enough quality to hit 20 runs or more when he gets in.

Bet 3: Bowler Milestones – Adil Rashid – 2+ Wickets

The last of our T20 World Cup tips for today involves England’s highest wicket-taker in the competition so far, Adil Rashid. Though a little more expensive than fellow spinner Liam Dawson, he has more of an edge and could be the man to break Italian hearts.

Rashid has taken five wickets in his 11 overs so far, and we’re backing him to get at least another couple on Monday. At Eden Gardens, Rashid will get the chance to vary his pace and trajectory, and he’ll be a big danger to the Italian batsmen at crucial times during the innings.
