Bet 1: Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton – Orton to Win

Where do I start with this one? Cody Rhodes against Randy Orton had the makings of a classic WrestleMania storyline, given that both men share years of history. Instead, the writers have dropped the ball and turned this rivalry into a complete joke.

Just a couple of years ago, Rhodes was one of the most popular characters in the wrestling business, only to lose his adoration through continuous bad booking.

Orton, on the other hand, is chasing his 15th WWE title, and he will have former NFL star and former wrestling personality Pat McAfee in his corner.

McAfee revealed he will never work in professional wrestling again should Orton lose this match. Given the close relationship between WWE, McAfee, and his employers at ESPN, that’s highly unlikely.

This match will be the main event of Night 1, so I'm expecting shocks and surprises. Perhaps an interference or two. However, when it comes to the end result, I’m backing Orton to win at 4/6.

Bet 2: CM Punk vs Roman Reigns – Reigns to Win

There’s no question about it, WWE is in a slump. Something needs to change, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the big bosses at TKO will want to recreate the historic hype of WrestleMania 40 by putting the title back on Roman Reigns.

The wrestling business hit a historic peak during Reigns’ time at the top, and putting the title back on his shoulder does seem like the logical way to go.

CM Punk has done a decent job as World Heavyweight Champion, but there’s no doubt that the former UFC fighter is a lot better when he is doing the chasing.

Latest odds reflect that sentiment, with William Hill pricing Reigns at 2/5. Nevertheless, he is still my pick in this match.

Bet 3: Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar – Femi to win

This is an easy one… at least in my head it is.

Brock Lesnar has already achieved everything in the wrestling business, and there is nothing to gain from putting him over at WrestleMania 42.

Oba Femi, on the other hand, is enjoying a serious push. The heavyweight behemoth could greatly benefit from a win over Lesnar on the biggest stage in wrestling.

The bookies agree, pricing Femi at around the 4/11 mark.

Bet 4: Sami Zayn vs Trick Williams – Williams to Win

Sami Zayn will defend his United States Championship against Trick Williams in what should be an exciting match.

Williams is arguably one of the most popular characters in the WWE right now. The fans love him, and winning a championship at WrestleMania could elevate him even further.

There’s nothing to gain from a Zayn win. In fact, it would be detrimental to Williams and his progress. At 1/2, I’m backing the challenger.

Bet 5: Six-Pack Ladder Match – Penta to Win

Six men, one title and a bunch of ladders. What’s not to like.

Looking at the long list of participants, there are only two men in contention. The first is defending Intercontinental Champion Penta, and the other is Je’Von Evans.

There’s no doubt that Evans has what it takes to become a huge WWE star, but I don’t think the timing is right to put a belt on him.

Penta, on the other hand, is a huge fan favourite. With the company looking to build their presence in Mexico, keeping the belt on an AAA legend is the way to go.

From a betting perspective, Penta offers more value at 13/8, compared to Evans who is the 1/2 favourite.
