England will be looking to book their place in the 2026 World Cup knockout stages when they face Ghana on Tuesday night.
A lot has happened since the Three Lions were last in action. We've seen a Prime Minister pack it in, Serena Williams announce another comeback, and somehow Gary Lineker pop up on ITV.
The world's completely lost the plot, but at least we've still got Tuchel's England to keep us entertained. And because a big game deserves a bit of added interest, I've put together a tasty 3-fold bet builder that could make Tuesday night even sweeter.
England vs Ghana Bet Builder
It’s quite incredible what one good win can do. Nobody is talking about the omission of big players, nor the fact Tuchel didn’t sing the national anthem (and why would he, he’s German). Instead, all the talk is about how good England looked in that second half against Croatia.
Next on the agenda is a big game with Ghana, and I have been busy looking at my spreadsheets, searching for the juiciest selections. Below are my three bets, alongside tasty odds from one of the best online bookies, Betfred.
| Market | Odds (Bookmaker) | Return for £10 |
|---|---|---|
| Harry Kane to Score or Assist | 2/5 (Betfred) | £14.00 |
| Marvin Senaya 2+ Fouls | 27/20 (Betfred) | £23.50 |
| Over 2.5 Goals | 8/13 (Betfred) | £16.15 |
| Acca | 3.23/1 (Betfred) | £42.30 |

Betfred Offer: Bet £10, Get £10 in Free Bets
If you’re planning to bet on the England game, make sure to use Betfred. New and existing customers get £10 in free bets when placing a £10 bet builder on the Three Lions.
Just make sure your bet builder has three or more selections, and the odds are at least 3/1. You must opt-in within 48 hours of each match.
Bet 1: Harry Kane to Score or Assist
England’s key to success at the 2026 World Cup can be boiled down to two words… Harry and Kane.
The Bayern Munich striker scored twice in the 4-2 win over Croatia, extending his World Cup goal tally to 10.
With 13 goal contributions to his name from 12 World Cup matches, Kane is almost a betting cheat code, especially during group matches. With that in mind, I’m backing the England frontman to come up with a goal or assist against Ghana.
Betfred’s Sub Switch Feature
If your selected player gets substituted at any point in the match, your selection is switched to the next player. This is thanks to Betfred’s ‘Sub Switch’ feature.
This can be a lifesaver should your pick suffer an early injury or face a half-time substitution.
Bet 2: Marvin Senaya 2+ Fouls
Ghana fullback Marvin Senaya was a busy man during last week’s 1-0 victory over Panama, ending the contest with the most tackles and third-most duels from his team.
With Tuchel’s England expected to go on the front foot, Senaya is gearing up for another tough night at the office.
Marcus Rashford is likely to be on his side of the pitch, given the Barcelona man impressed when replacing a quiet Anthony Gordon.
A confident Rashford will not be easy to contain, and I’m backing Senaya to come up with at least two fouls on Tuesday.
Bet 3: Over 2.5 Goals
It’s clear from the opening game that the England of old (the one which scored once and defended for the rest of the game) is dying.
Tuchel wants the Three Lions to finally extend their wings and fly, though changing that mindset is not easy considering his players have been cooped up in a cage for years.
We’ve seen positive signs. England reverted to their old ways in the first half against Croatia, before coming out with a newfound aggression after the break.
An attacking England is more than capable of scoring goals. Then again, the Three Lions are also shaky at the back. Both those things combined should result in a high-scoring game, leading me to back the over 2.5 goals market.
