Bet 1: Macaulay Langstaff (Salford City)
Salford City are one of the main favourites for promotion in League Two this season, and in order to meet those expectations, the club have signed Macauley Landstaff from Millwall.
The striker certainly knows how to score goals. He bagged 32 in 46 games for Gateshead, and 71 in 97 games for Notts County – this includes his League Two Golden Boot season in 2023/24.
Millwall came knocking and brought the player to the Championship, though the step up ultimately proved too difficult, with the 29-year-old scoring five times in 76 appearances.
Putting that aside, Langstaff is back in the familiar territory of League Two, and he is available at 3/1 to once again top the scoring charts.
Bet 2: Kabongo Tshimanga (Barnet)
Kabongo Tshimanga knows where the net is. He’s been banging them in for years, from 24 league goals for Oxford City to 24 in just 27 games for Chesterfield. This isn’t a striker suddenly having a purple patch — he’s got serious goals in him.
And he’s already shown what he can do in League Two. He bagged 11 for Swindon before joining Barnet, then went off on one with 12 goals in just 21 league games after moving to the Bees. That’s the sort of form that gets you thinking, Golden Boot.
The big thing now is he gets a full season at Barnet. No settling in, no January move — just 46 games to rack up the goals.
He’s quick, strong and priced at 8/1 in the Golden Boot race. Give him chances and he’ll put them away. If Barnet can keep feeding him, Tshimanga could be the bloke everyone’s chasing come May.
Bet 3: Aaron Drinan (Swindon Town)
Last season’s League Two Player of the Season will be looking to claim a second successive Golden Boot.
Aaron Drinan bagged 22 league efforts for Swindon Town last term, which was almost a third of the club’s overall goal haul.
Priced at 11/1, the player offers terrific value in this market. He has experience at this level and clearly knows how to finish goalscoring opportunities. Should Swindon enjoy a good season, Drinan could be right up there.
