I’m sorry to say, but Saturday’s fight between Katie Taylor and Flora Pili is lion against lamb.
I was watching the public workout the other day, and Pili was literally crossing her legs while shadow boxing in the ring – something you’re told not to do on day one in the gym.
The French boxer has 12 pro fights under her belt, though even the most die-hard of boxing fans would struggle to recognise any of her opponents.
Taylor doesn’t tend to end fights before the final bell, picking up just six stoppages across her 25 outings.
However, given Pili’s worrying technique and lack of serious opposition, I can genuinely see Taylor getting an early finish in front of 80,000 fans.
Bet 2: Katie Taylor Most Jabs and Body Punches Landed
Given that Taylor is expected to dominate proceedings, I reckon a good second bet is backing the home favourite to land the most jabs and body punches.
This bet saved me some money last weekend, considering I backed Moses Itauma in the same market against Filip Hrgovic.
At 40 years old, Taylor is no spring chicken, but she has no qualms about getting busy in the ring.
I’m expecting Taylor’s hands to fly against a far less experienced opponent, who may become slightly overwhelmed by the size of the occasion.
