Scheduled on the same day as the Champions League and Britain’s Got Talent finals, rugby league will attempt to steal some of the headlines with the 125th edition of the Challenge Cup. Wigan Warriors and Hull KR will battle for the historic trophy, and I’ve found two tasty bets to spice up your cup final day.

Challenge Cup final betting tips, Wigan Warriors vs Hull KR, May 2026

Challenge Cup Final Betting Tips

The Challenge Cup may be one of the prestigious competitions in the rugby league sphere, but the bookies don’t seem too bothered by the limited number of markets on offer.

Nevertheless, I used one of the best online bookies, MyStake, to find two tasty selections, both priced at great odds. Let’s jump in.

Hull KR to Win 4/5 (MyStake) £18.00

Bet 1: Under 30.5 Points

Both teams went head-to-head in the Super League last week, with Hull KR handing Wigan their biggest ever defeat in the competition – a 62-4 pummelling.

As you might have guessed, Wigan fielded a team full of youngsters that had an average age of 20 and included 10 debutants.

You can imagine the backlash that Wigan boss Matt Peet has faced. After all, it’s like seeing Arsenal field a team of academy players for a Premier League clash with Liverpool… an extraordinary decision to make.

Nevertheless, Wigan will give Hull KR a serious run for their money with a full-strength side this Saturday, and the points market is the smart play in my opinion.

Not counting last week’s debacle, three of the last four meetings between these teams have produced under 30.5 points.

I’m sticking with that trend and backing under 30.5 points to land again at around the 4/5 mark. Those are great odds for a bet that has landed so frequently.

Bet 2: Hull KR to Win

How can you not back Hull KR to defend the Challenge Cup this Saturday?

Firstly, Willie Peters and his men are in sensational form, winning their last nine matches across all competitions, and conceding 10 or fewer points in five of those outings.

Secondly, just look at the recent head-to-head record. The Robins have Wigan’s number, winning their last three meetings – two of them rather comfortably.

Thirdly, Wigan are not the same dominant force that conquered the rugby league world under Peet. Five defeats from nine games certainly underline that.

Priced at 4/5 to win the Wembley showdown, I’m backing KR to claim back-to-back Challenge Cup triumphs for the first time in their history.
