- Spread betting specialists
- Generous welcome bonus
- Plenty of sportsbook markets
- Simple two-step process
- Takes a matter of minutes to complete
Some players can be put off signing up to a new UK sportsbook due to overly complicated registration processes. You’ll be glad to know that there is no danger of this happening at Spreadex! Getting started with the betting site could not be easier, with just two steps required.
To start the process, you’ll need to locate the ‘JOIN’ icon in the top right of the screen. Clicking on this will take you to step one of signing up.
Here you will need to fill in your Name, Email Address, Country of Residence and Nationality, as well as selecting a Username and Password. When doing the latter we recommend including numbers and symbols for maximum security. When you are done, check the box confirming you are over 18 and click ‘CONTINUE’.
This will take you to the second and final step of the registration process. All that is required here is your Date of Birth, Phone Number and Address. You will also need to select a security question and answer in case you lose access to your account.
Your account will be automatically verified by the bookmaker using the details you’ve provided. You’ll be greeted by the above screen, where you have the choice whether to immediately make your first deposit or active your spread betting account.
Should you opt for the latter, the bookmaker will proceed to ask you a few more questions related to your finance details before you can begin spread betting.
Overall, we could not find anything to complain about when signing up to Spreadex. The process was quick and easy, and we appreciated the emphasis on security.
Deposit and withdrawal options
- Debit cards and cheques accepted
- No e-wallets at all
- No cryptocurrency
If you prefer to fund your sportsbook account with a debit card, you will have no problems doing exactly that at Spreadex.
The operator accepts Maestro, Visa Debit & Delta, Solo, Electron and Mastercard payments, with all options allowing a minimum deposit of £10. Unlike most of its competitors, Spreadex does not impose a maximum deposit limit.
As well as debit cards, bank transfer and cheques are also accepted by the online bookie. No fees are involved with each process.
Unfortunately, this is where Spreadex’s banking options end. They do not accept any third-party payments, which rules out e-wallets like Skrill, NETELLER and PayPal, as well as prepaid vouchers such as paysafecard. Cryptocurrency is not accepted either.
Because of this, transactions may take slightly longer than you are used to at other sportsbooks. When using a debit card to withdraw, the funds are likely to appear in your account within 2-5 days, while bank transfers should be slightly faster.
While it is disappointing to find some popular payment missing from Spreadex, it is not the end of the world. As the operator accepts the most widely used methods, you will likely have no problems funding your account.
To fund your Spreadex account, click the ‘MY ACCOUNT’ icon located in the top right-hand corner of the homepage.
A new tab will open, in which you’ll see the above drop-down list on the left-hand side. To begin the depositing process, select ‘Deposit Funds’ and select whether you wish to fund your ‘Spread betting trader ledger’ or ‘Sports fixed odds wallet’. We opted for the former.
Then it’s merely the financial formalities. As we noted earlier, you can use various debit cards, bank transfer and cheques to fund your Spreadex account. We are using a debit card, so we had to confirm our preferred currency then fill out our card number, card expiry date, date of birth and security code before selecting how much we wanted to deposit.
Should you require further assistance, a small information paragraph is provided at the top of this tab. Here, Spreadex list the contact information for various communication avenues.
Once our card information was filled out, a click of the ‘SUBMIT’ button saw our Spreadex account funded – as shown below.
To withdraw funds with Spreadex, you must once again access the ‘YOUR ACCOUNT’ tab.
The same drop-down list then appears, but this time, you’ll need to select ‘Withdraw Funds’. As the bookmaker notes, withdrawals can be made to any card/bank used to make a deposit. Punters are restricted to £25,000 maximum card withdrawals or £2,500 Mastercard/Maestro withdrawals.
In this example, we have £13.33 in our Spreadex account which we wish to withdraw. Thus, to do so, we confirmed our payment method (card) and the withdrawal amount. The card you used to deposit will automatically appear as the default option, so we merely clicked ‘NEXT’ to proceed.
Then, we had to confirm our withdrawal by clicking ‘CONFIRM’. The below screen signalled the end of the process, with our funds expected to arrive within 2-5 working days.
At the time of writing, UK punters can claim a generous welcome offer after signing up with Spreadex. The bookmaker is offering new customers £35 in free bets. To claim, punters must place a £25 qualifying bet on any fixed odds market at odds of ½ or greater.
- The free bets are credited in instalments upon the conclusion of their qualifying bet. Punters are given their first £5 free bet upon the settlement of the qualifying bet, with the four following £5 free bets credited on the next four consecutive days. For example, if your qualifying bet settles on Monday, you’ll immediately receive a £5 free bet, then the rest of your free bets on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- In addition to these fixed odds free bets, Spreadex also gifts punters two free bets to be used on any Total Goals spread market (you must have a full spread betting account open with Spreadex to earn these freebies).
- That’s the maximum reward you can receive from Spreadex. The size of your qualifying bet depends on how many free bets you’ll receive. For example, if your first stake ranges between £5-£9, you’ll garner just one £5 free bet.
- This offer must be claimed within 28 days of your account opening. No bonus codes need to be added.
- Many extra promotions to choose from
- Refer-a-friend system
- Lack of formal VIP/loyalty programme is a shame
At the time of our Spreadex review we were blown away by the incredible selection of additional promotions available at Spreadex sportsbook.
Whether you prefer fixed odds or spread betting there are plenty of ways to be rewarded at Spreadex. One of the sportsbook’s most popular schemes is Refer and Earn. With this, you can be rewarded simply for spreading the word about the company.
When a friend signs up to Spreadex, get them to mention your name and postcode when they have their Welcome Call from the accounts team. They then need to place five sports spread bets (£2 minimum stake) and you will be rewarded with a £100 free spread bet that can be used on the Total Goals market.
This is just one of many great promotions you can expect from Spreadex. Another example is their First Goalscorer Insurance offer, in which punters win their money back as a free bet should their fixed odds first scorer bet instead scores last in the selected match.
Unfortunately Spreadex does not yet offer a formalised sportsbook VIP/loyalty scheme. This is not too much of a problem, though. The huge amount of promotions on offer mean that there will always be a bonus on the horizon to keep you engaged.
- One of the only UK sportsbooks to offer spread betting
- Huge amount of different sports markets to choose from
- Deep selection for majority of sports
Spreadex’s pre-match offer is excellent. Odds can easily be changed into fractions, decimals or American formats, so viewing your outstanding wagers could not be easier.
Of course, a betting site is only ever as good as its sports selection. In total, Spreadex offers over 20 different sporting markets. Mainstream choices such as football, tennis and horse racing are all here, but there are also many less well-known options. For instance, we tried out Aussie rules, table tennis and volleyball betting for the first time during our review.
In the vast majority of these sports, the submarkets are deep. For football, common bets such as First Goalscorer, Under/Over Goals and Asian handicaps are here. However, there is plenty more on offer as well. We particularly enjoyed the #NameIt bets, which are unique wagers you will only find at Spreadex.
Before recommending any sportsbook for odds, we always make sure to check the overround of several markets. Essentially, this is a measure of house edge. When we did this, we happily discovered that all of the operator’s odds seem extremely competitive when compared with other sportsbooks.
Placing a Bet With Spreadex
Placing a fixed odds bet with Spreadex is simple. We wanted to bet on the outcome of one of the popular football matches in the following example.
- First, we accessed the bookmaker’s football offering by clicking the football tab located on the horizontal slider that runs across the homepage.
- A drop-down list then manifests with the most popular games listed at the top. We chose to bet on Dynamo Kyiv vs Bayern Munich, in which we backed the visitors to win at 1/3.
- Our selection then went straight into the bet slip – seen ubiquitously down on the right-hand side of the homepage – before we staked £10, thus returning £13.33. Spreadex’s minimum and maximum stakes are bet dependent, but the vast majority of markets boast a 1p minimum stake.
- Then, a click of the ‘PLACE BETS’ icon will confirm your bet.
- The confirmed bet is shown below.

Aside from all of these fine fixed-odd pre-match markets, Spreadex is also one of the only UK sportsbooks to offer spread betting. If you have not heard of this, worry not. All you need to do is read our in-depth guide to spread betting, and you’ll be good to go!
As it specialises in this form of wagering, you will not be surprised to hear that Spreadex does it extremely well. It is easy for novices to pick up the practice, with spread betting available on the overwhelming majority of the sportsbook’s markets.
As esports is one of the fastest growing markets in the world, it is vital that operators offer a good betting service for all the biggest tournaments.
Accordingly, Spreadex consistently covers the most popular esports events worldwide. Over the course of our review we discovered markets for several CS:GO, League of Legends and Call of Duty tournaments – and that only scratches the surface of what you can expect during the year.
If you want to try something different from sports and esports betting, there are plenty of other markets to sink your teeth into.
There is plenty of politics betting available with the site, for example, with markets on the next Labour and Conservative leader available at the time of this Spreadex review.
Cash Out & Bet Builder
Cash out can be used on almost all of Spreadex’s pre-match markets. The amount updates in real time, ensuring you always get the fairest price possible.
Creating your own customised bets could also not be easier. Spreadex’s Bet builder feature can be used on most markets, allowing you to tailor your experience exactly to your needs.
- Hundreds of live markets to choose from
- Some great live streaming options
- Dynamic, competitive odds
Much like in pre-match offering, Spreadex’s live betting options are some of the best we have come across. 20 different sports are available for in-play bets and the odds are updated constantly depending on what is happening in the game.
Following events that you’ve bet on is made easy by the in-depth statistics that Spreadex provides. Regardless of the sport, the operator consistently goes the extra mile, offering many different stats that help you to make informed decisions.
Another great addition is live streaming. Although not every market is broadcasted for bettors, horse racing, tennis and greyhounds can all be watched on the betting site. Spreadex also has rights to broadcast the Bulgarian football league.
Even if they are not showing the event themselves, Spreadex provides information on where it is available to view in the United Kingdom and abroad.
- Fully licensed by the UKGC
- SSL encryption
- Committed to safer gambling
Whenever we conduct a bookmaker review, we are always sure to verify each sportsbook’s security and licensing credentials. When we did this for Spreadex, we were impressed with what we found.
It is licensed to operate by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 8835. The UKGC is one of the most scrupulous regulatory bodies on the planet and their licenses are only being granted if a sportsbook adheres to their high standards. In short, then, while playing at Spreadex you can be sure that you are using a fair and secure service.
Further adding to the operator’s top-quality security credentials is SSL encryption. Whenever you are involved in a financial transaction on the site, your details are protected with this industry-leading technology.
Spreadex is also committed to safer gambling. If you request, the operator will impose deposit limits on your account, while there is also considerable material on how to avoid unsafe practices on their website.
Service and customer support
- 24/7 Support
- Many ways to get in contact
- Responsive and courteous staff
Good customer service in the cornerstone of any good business, and online bookmakers are no different. Whenever we had a problem, Spreadex was more than happy to help. Regardless of how we got in contact with the operator, we always received a warm greeting followed by some helpful advice.
For most queries, your first port of call should be live chat. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ‘LIVE CHAT’ icon is always available on the bottom right of the screen regardless of where you navigate on the site. Due to this, assistance is never more than one click away.
If you prefer not to use the live chat, Spreadex can also be contacted via email on firstname.lastname@example.org. For those who prefer to speak to someone, there is a telephone support line available on 01727 895 000.
Your options do not end there either. If you ever need to send something by post, the required Freepost address is:
Freepost RRRS-GTBG-HGZB, Spreadex Ltd., Churchill House, Upper Marlborough Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 3UU.
Design & Usability
- Innovative site design
- Simple but effective aesthetics
- Navigation is a breeze
As soon as you open the Spreadex website, you will notice how well it is laid out. It is clear that usability was the central aim of the design process, with the various sub-menus and search functions making navigation a complete breeze.
We also appreciated the laid-back colour scheme. There is nothing overpowering here, with only grey, off-white, black and red used. This, combined with the well-sized icons, make everything on the site extremely legible.
Placing the most popular sports markets in a banner on the top of the site is another solid decision that further increases the usability of the site.
- App available on both Android and iOS
- Optimised for the smaller screen
- Does not sacrifice performance
Sports betting on the go is becoming increasingly popular. Therefore, having a high-performing sportsbook app on your phone is important.
Spreadex offers its players exactly this. The app can be downloaded for free from both the Google Play Store and App Store, so whether you are team Android or team Apple, your needs are met.
The app makes sure not to sacrifice performance on the smaller screen. All of the features and markets on the website can be accessed, with everything optimised for the smaller device. We really enjoyed exploring the sportsbook on our phone and tablet during our review.
- Financial trading available
- Online casino
- Virtual sports
Spreadex is not only known as spread betting specialists. They are also synonymous with making financial trading accessible for the masses. If this is your sort of thing, this part of Spreadex’s portfolio can be accessed on the website; however, you will need to download a separate app to explore on your phone or tablet.
Apart from all of the above, Spreadex also has an online casino, featuring some of the best online slots around such as Gonzo’s Quest, Starburst and many titles from the highly rated Megaways™ series. There are no live casino options, though.
Rounding off Spreadex’s other products is virtual sports. Using cutting edge simulations, punters can bet on virtual football matches, with a range of markets available. This means that the fun can continue even when there is a break on the sporting calendar.
