Leicester and Van Nistelrooy have just parted ways on mutual consent. The Foxes are now desperate for a new manager to bounce them back to the Premier League. Could Sean Dyche be the man for the job?

Van Nistelrooy’s long-anticipated departure has finally come to pass, and with just over a month until the new season, Leicester need to bring someone in fast.
The Foxes will be looking for someone who can guide them straight up to the Premier League and be able to hold his own against the big boys in the top division.
These are the top next Leicester manager odds, priced by BetVictor:
Manager | Odds |
---|---|
Sean Dyche | 4/7 |
Danny Rohl | 5/4 |
Michael Carrick | 4/1 |
Gary O’Neil | 10/1 |
Liam Rosenior | 11/1 |
Dyche Back In Action
Sean Dyche is currently out of management after getting the boot from Everton. He’s a very experienced manager and is a specialist in Premier League survival.
His credentials with Burnley alone should be enough for any club in Leicester’s position to want his signature. He’s also won the Championship 10 seasons ago, and this could be a good chance for him to taste silverware and rebuild a squad again.
The only thing that may leave fans unimpressed is Dyche’s often old-school tactical style of play. If he’s winning games, though, that won’t matter too much.
Danny Rohl Move
Danny Rohl could be out the door at Sheffield Wednesday, as an internal crisis has rocked the camp. Rohl steered Wednesday to a respectable 12th place last season, but the issues are far from over.
The main issue is that Rohl has his eyes set on home, with a move to the Bundesliga being his preferred option. Leicester could sway him into staying in England, especially with a good chance of Premier League football next season.
Michael Carrick to the King Power
Carrick has shown to be an absolutely brilliant manager. Taking a relegation-stricken Middlesbrough to an EFL Cup semi-final, and into the Championship stability in just three seasons. Why he was sacked, we’ll never know.
Michael Carrick has done a great job in management so far, but his inexperience could be worrisome for the Foxes. We still could see this happening, but Carrick won’t be Leicester’s first choice.
Leicester’s Great Expectations
As a newly relegated side, the minimum expected of the new manager is an immediate return to the Premier League. This has become a more common trend, that relegated sides to bounce back, mainly thanks to parachute payments.
We’re backing the Foxes to come straight back up, but the bookies are less convinced. Bet365 have priced Leicester at 12/1 to win the league, and 9/2 for promotion.
Whoever the next Leicester manager is, he’s got his work cut out for him.
