Nicolas Jackson is set to leave Chelsea after falling out of favour with Maresca. Newcastle have emerged as new favourites for his signature, but Villa have also swooped in for the Senegalese forward.
Jackson has had a hectic time at Stanford Bridge, scoring 24 goals in 65 games, but he’s not been consistent. Chelsea have also just brought in Delap and Joao Pedro, who have already made a better impact at the club than Jackson.
Jackson has expressed his desire to leave the club, and his exclusion from the squad in last weekend’s opener against Palace is probably the last nail in the coffin. A move within the Premier League is still his most likely destination.

Can Jackson Carry the Toons
With Isak throwing his toys out of the pram, Newcastle will be looking for a striker who’s Premier League proven right now. It’s slim pickings right now, and with Brentford blocking Newcastle's move for Yoane Wissa, Jackson looks like the best option.
Jackson’s style of play as a speedy and physical forward is very similar to Isak’s, so he’ll fit right in at St. James’ Park. Chelsea's £51 million asking price is massive, but if there’s one club that can afford it, it’s Newcastle.
From West London to the West Midlands
With Ollie Watkins turning 30 in December, the Villains are actively looking for a successor to carry the torch. Jackson’s only 24, and it could be a brilliant opportunity to play with a competitive team, while still being a star player.
The only problem is the price, which is too steep for Aston Villa. Although they’re in talks with Jackson for a £10 million loan move, which could be perfect for both the player and the clubs. Unai Emery is also a huge admirer of the forward, so Jackson would be joining a much more hospitable environment.
Moonwalk to the Maradona Stadium
Napoli may have won the Serie A last season, but only finished sixth in terms of goals scored. An ageing forward line could do with a bit of pace, and with De Bruyne providing clinical passes, Jackson could be the final piece in the puzzle.
The asking price is massive, but Premier League players have been known to thrive in the Serie A, so Jackson presents a good opportunity, if that trend can continue.
