Wednesday sees two cracking Champions Quarter-Final matchups with Barcelona taking on Atletico Madrid and PSG hosting Liverpool. I have put together a great little 12/1 acca for these two first leg ties.

Points System
I've added a points-scoring system that works as a confidence rating for each bet. Points are based on your standard stake:
– 1 Point = Your standard stake (What you would normally bet here)
– 1.5 Points = Your usual stake plus half.
– 2 Points = Double your usual stake
– 0.5 Point = Half your usual stake.
Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid: Over 3.5 Goals
Barcelona have proved themselves to be phenomenally strong at home this season. Looking at all of the stats, I back them to win but with best odds of 4/7 with Coral I decided to look elsewhere for value.
I had a quick look at betting on cards, given that the two sides met on Saturday in La Liga, and there were seven cards shown, including a red for Atleti’s Nicolas Gonzalez. However, looking at the teams in the Champions League and in La Liga this season, their overall disciplinary records have been good.
Instead, I looked at the goals markets, with the stats telling me that this will be a high scoring encounter. The two sides have met four times this season, and there have been goals on each occasion. The two meetings in La Liga saw Barca do the double over Diego Simeone’s side with a 3-1 home win and a 2-1 away win. In the Copa Del Rey Atelti won the first leg 4-0 with Barcelona just failing to make a spectacular comeback in the return match with a 3-0 win. Barcelona have scored 80 in 30 matches in La Liga, with 29 conceded, with Atleti scoring 50 times and shipping 30 goals in their 30 league games.
However, it is the Champions League stats that stand out where neither team have kept a clean sheet. This has been out of character for Atleti under Simeone as their success has often been based on strong defence. Barcelona will play a high line and will give the opposition a chance, backing themselves to impose their style on the game and score more. Our Kickform stats show that 50% of Barcelona’s games and 75% of Atletico’s fixtures have seen over 3.5 goals. Barcelona have averaged 3.00 goals per game while Atletico have averaged 2.58. We think that 10/11at bet365 is great value.
PSG vs Liverpool: PSG To Win & BTTS
PSG are again looking strong and, in my opinion, will put up a strong defence of their trophy. Liverpool have looked like a shadow of the team that won the Premier League last season and were comprehensively swept aside by Manchester City in the FA Cup at the weekend. The best price you can get for PSG to beat Liverpool is 8/11 and, even at 7/2 with Betfred, I don’t have enough confidence in Arne Slot’s side to back them to spring a surprise in Paris. But going for a home win with BTTS looks a good option.
Like Barcelona, PSG will give you a chance. They have only kept three clean sheets in 12 Champions League matches this season. Both teams have found the net in 75% of PSG’s Champions League games and despite leading Ligue 1 with 20 wins from 27 they have conceded in just under half of their games. Both teams have scored in 65% of Liverpool’s Premier League games, and although the stats do not tell the full story, there have been games where chances and goals have flowed at either end in the Champions League. Kickform give PSG a 62% chance of winning and give a 62% chance of both teams scoring. Therefore, I feel that 19/10 at Coral is fantastic value.
PSG vs Liverpool: Dominik Szobozlai Over 1.5 Shots on Target
Dominik Szoblazlai has arguably been Liverpool’s most consistent player this season. When looking at the stats from Kickform noted that the Hungary international has registered 29 shots with 14 on target in 10 Champions League matches, scoring five goals. He has averaged 2.73 shots on target per 90 minutes in the competition this season. In the Premier League across 29 starts he has an average of 0.66 shots on target.
Given Szoblazai’s liking for a free kick from distance I am backing him to work the PSG goalkeeper on Wednesday, and I feel that 13/8 with bet365 is an excellent price even though I think that the Reds will be on the back foot for much of the game.
My 12/1 Acca is Live
I have put the three wagers together at bet365. Counting the bets from Liverpool’s trip to PSG as a bet builder, it comes out as a 13/1 double.
