Tottenham have managed to rally at the right time and now need just a point from their remaining two games to avert one of the biggest shocks in Premier League history. They face a Chelsea side on Tuesday, 19 May, that is in freefall and in dire need of a result themselves to secure European football next season. With so much on the line, this could be a cracker, and I’ve got a value-packed bet builder paying 5/1 to add a little bit of spice. Let’s jump in.

Bet 1: Tottenham to Win or Draw (Double Chance)
Chelsea are sleepwalking into a season without European football if they don’t pick up at least one win over their last two games. They’ve been nothing short of woeful for a good few weeks now, and even though they rescued a point against Liverpool last time out, there’s nothing suggesting to me that there’s a revival on the cards here.
This is one of those games I think has more to it than the data might suggest, but if you are a numbers guy, then I’ve got plenty of ammunition to suggest that Spurs are good value on the double chance. Chelsea have:
-
Failed to win any of their last seven matches
-
Conceded in each of their last 14 matches
-
Conceded in 13 of their 18 home games
-
Lost each of their last four games
I could go on, but you get the picture. Only Burnley have picked up fewer points in the league over the last eight games, and it’s part of the reason they eventually parted ways with Liam Rosenior before announcing last week that Xabi Alonso would take over in the summer.
For Tottenham, it looks like they are going to survive by the skin of their teeth. It’s not necessarily that they’ve been playing well, but the fact that West Ham continue to make basic errors in games means their East London rivals are odds-on to head back to the Championship.
Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment came at the right time for Spurs, who are now four games unbeaten and need just a point on Tuesday night to all but guarantee their Premier League status.
The markets look buoyant, which isn’t surprising given the inconsistencies of both teams this season. However, I think Spurs at 5/6 on the double chance is a strong play to kick off my Chelsea vs Tottenham bet builder.
Bet 2: Both Teams to Score -Yes
Chelsea haven’t kept a clean sheet in the Premier League since their 2-0 home win over Brentford back in January. That’s now 14 games, which is the longest streak in the league this season.
Spurs haven’t fared much better. Their 1-0 win over Wolves at the end of April was their first clean sheet since the 1st of January, ironically also against Brentford.
While it’s good to have free-scoring teams for both teams to score market, sometimes it's just as advantageous to have two that can’t defend, which is exactly what we’ve got here. Odds of 4/7 obviously aren’t huge, but I still think there’s value here, even with these short odds.
Bet 3: Kevin Danso Over 1.5 Fouls
Spurs’ defensive injury crisis has meant that Kevin Danso has played more games than was earmarked at the start of the season. The Austrian has had to cover for long-term injuries to both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, and while not on the same level as either, he has brought the physicality needed over the last few games to help grind out results.
He’s covered over 1.5 fouls in seven of the last eight starts, which ticks a lot of boxes already for this bet. But he’s going to be up against Joao Pedro on Tuesday night, who draws 1.85 fouls per 90, which is the most of any Chelsea player with 20+ starts this season.
Odds of 7/5 with Ladbrokes look generous, and there's everything to suggest that this matchup should cruise the over 1.5 fouls line.
