Introduction

Established in 2021, Betstorm is a new addition to the very competitive betting industry. This brand is operated ProgressPlay Limited who are a well known name in the industry. We do feel Betstorm does bring a lot to the table but at the moment, we do not consider it one of the top contenders for best bookmakers in the United Kingdom, however if they do some necessary improvements, there is no reason why they cannot compete with the bigger brands.

Creating an account with BetStorm is an easy process that begins with listing the email we want to associate with our account and creating a password. We also listed our mobile phone number before clicking submit which moved us onto the next step.

BetStorm Registration Screenshot

Step two looks rather hectic, but all the information we had to give (name, gender, date of birth, address and preferred currency) was very basic. This is where we decided whether we’d like to receive notifications from the bookmaker regarding any offers, etc.

After clicking submit, we were initially taken to the deposit screen before the above tab popped up. We had been sent an activation number and once we typed in the code, our account would be ready to go.

Our code was sent via text, arriving immediately, and once we clicked submit for a third time, our BetStorm account was up and running.

The minimum deposit while using debit cards, PayPal, paysafecard and PayviaPhone is £10, while it’s £20 for Payz and MuchBetter. Information regarding maximum withdrawals wasn’t available, but we did learn that paysafecard boasts a maximum of £700.

Withdrawals information was also scarce. We couldn’t discover the minimum or maximum withdrawal amount for any of the offered payment methods. However, we did find out that BetStorm’s processing times are rather long. For example, it takes between 3-7 days for funds to arrive in your bank account if you withdraw via debit card or PayPal.

Withdrawal fees are also incurred on all methods (1% up to £3 per withdrawal).

Depositing Funds

BetStorm Deposit Screenshot

To make a deposit with BetStorm, first we clicked the ‘CASHIER’ icon located at the top of the homepage. That brought up the above screen right away.

From there it was simple. All we had to do was fill out all the basic financial information (card number, expiry date, and security code) before confirming how much we wished to deposit.

We could’ve also entered a deposit code if we had one available to us.

Anyway, after clicking the green ‘Deposit’ icon, the process was complete.

We received immediate confirmation of our successful deposit.

Withdrawing Winnings

BetStorm Withdrawal Screenshot

We were fortunate enough to win the first bet we placed with BetStorm, and we wished to withdraw the funds from our account.

Thus, to begin the withdrawal process, we clicked ‘CASHIER’ icon.

The above drop-down list then presented itself. We clicked ‘WITHDRAWAL’ and from there, the process was simple. All we had to do was confirm how much we wanted to take out before clicking ‘Withdrawal’.

That was processed right away and we should receive our funds in the coming days.

    Maximum £200 winnings from bonus

To qualify for BetStorm’s welcome offer, new customers must deposit and place bets to the value of £10.

This is a one-time stake, with the odds of your qualifying bet being at least ½ (1.5). Once your bet is placed, you will immediately receive your £10 bonus.

This bonus will expire a week after being credited, so punters must use it pretty quickly. Players can also win a maximum of £200 from this promotion.

    Rewards Programme

There are multiple sportsbook promotions that cover an array of sports. There’s a little bit of everything for punters to enjoy.

BetStorm boasts various cashback offers as well as leaderboards and chances for customers to win free bets. Their ‘Free Bet Mondays’ promotions gifts punters a £20 free bet after they stake £40 on any sports market.

The bookie’s Wager Wars leaderboard is available until the end of the month and punters can win a £150 cash prize for finishing on top.

Bet Storm VIP/Loyalty Programme

BetStorm VIP Programme Screenshot

Bet Storm currently doesn’t boast a VIP programme as such, but there is a Rewards programme.

Punters can climb the ranking for completing specific tasks, playing more, and topping leaderboards. Users will acquire points which they can use in the Rewards Store. There are various prizes on offer, including Free Bets, Deposit Bonuses, and Free Spins.

Opinion

What we like about BetStorm’s promotions is that they’re constantly updated. While the offers themselves aren’t exactly groundbreaking, there’s seemingly something different every day. The bookie’s Rewards Programme also gives punters incentive to bet.

Pre-Match Offer

    Competitive and consistent odds

BetStorm Pre-Match Offer Screenshot

BetStorm’s sportsbook covers an array of sports. In total, 33 sports are covered. Their coverage is extensive, with an array of markets and sub-markets on offer within each sport. Events from across the globe at various level are covered by this bookie. At the time of writing there were a grand total of 2,752 pre-match events for punters to bet on.

However, their impressive coverage would mean little if their odds weren’t generous. Thus, to measure the quality of BetStorm’s margins, we used the odds overround calculation. This is a percentage figure which is obtained when all the probabilities of an outcome of a bet are added together. Logically, this figure should add up to 100%, however, this does not take into consideration the profit made by the bookie. For this reason, it is commonly accepted that an odds overround of less than 110% indicates good odds.

To carry out our little experiment, we picked three random football matches from the Premier League, Europa League and Europa Conference League. The results came to 107.22%, 107.32% and 107% respectively, indicating that BetStorm’s odds are both consistent and competitive.

Annoyingly, punters can only display odds as decimals. There’s no option for odds to be displayed as fractions. The minimum stake is set at 2p while the maximum is bet-dependent.

Placing a Bet

BetStorm Placing Bet Screenshot

After making our first deposit, we wished to place our first bet. There were several Champions League markets to make the most of, so we checked them out by accessing the menu down the left-hand side of the homepage.

A list of games and markets manifested down the centre. We then opted to back Benfica to beat Club Brugge. That’s highlighted in pink above and, as you can see, it’s gone straight into our betslip down the right.

To place our bet, we confirmed our stake and clicked ‘PLACE BETS!’

Our bet was accepted and processed right away.

Esports

The bookie’s esports coverage is very good. At the time of writing, there were Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Valorant Rainbox Six and Dota 2 events available to bet on.

There were multiple markets for eSports bettors to punt on, too. We were very impressed overall.

To ensure you make the most of BetStorm’s impressive esports offering, be sure to check out our esports betting tips to enhance your chance of success in this sphere.

BetStorm – Other Specials

BetStorm can bet on an array of Oscars markets as well as the BAFTAs and Screen Actors Guild Award. For film buffs, BetStorm might be the bookmaker for you!

You can also bet on who’ll be the next James Bond.

Their political coverage, meanwhile, is limited to Turkish and American political events.

Cash Out & Bet Builder

BetStorm uses can take advantage of the bookmaker’s Cash Out and Partial Cash Out, but there is not a Bet Builder on offer.

Opinion

BetStorm’s pre-match offering might well be the highlight. The bookie boasts a comprehensive sportsbook and an endless list of markets and sub-markets. Their eSports coverage is very good and easy to access, while there’s enough to appease novelty bettors. Placing a bet is a simple process and, overall, we found it very difficult to find much fault.

Live Offer

BetStorm Live Offer Screenshot

We must note that at the time of writing, the football matches available were not of the highest quality. Thus, we might not have enjoyed the full extent of BetStorm’s full live coverage.

Their live offering, from we saw, was pretty mediocre. The bookie’s in-play markets – are easily accessible and there’s plenty of them, but the live features offered are fairly basic. Users can only view statistics and a match tracker. The markets available, meanwhile, were sufficient.

Unsurprisingly, punters cannot take advantage of a livestreaming service.

BetStorm License Screenshot

BetStorm’s site is operated by ProgressPlay Limited, a company registered in Malta that holds a licence from the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority.

A strong emphasis is placed on responsible gambling. Their dedicated page – found via the ‘Play Responsibly’ link at the bottom of the page – discusses the risks of gambling addiction and underage gambling. While the information provided isn’t overly extensive, there’s certainly enough there to help those that might need it.

Punters can set several controls to ensure their gambling doesn’t spiral out of control. These include Deposit Limits, Reality Checks, Time Outs, and Self-Exclusions.

The type of encryption used by the site is unknown, but BetStorm discusses all things data in their Privacy Policy which is available to view on the website.

    Automated customer support

BetStorm’s FAQs are accessible via several chat icons which are scattered across the homepage. A wide variety of queried are covered, but we didn’t find some of the answers to be very clear.

Thus, it’s likely that you’ll need to contact the bookie if you need an issue solving. You can contact BetStorm via email, but we opted to make the most of their Live Chat function which we accessed by clicking the green chat icon located in the bottom right-hand corner of the page.

BetStorm Customer Support Screenshot

Once clicked, we had the choice of clicking a few default queries or sending the bookmaker a message ourselves. We opted for the latter, but quickly discovered that we were just talking to a bot.

BetStorm Chat Screenshot

Thus, we were given a list of subject queries to choose from. We wanted to know how long it’d take for our funds to arrive in our account after withdrawing so we clicked ‘Deposits/Withdrawals’.

Once again, a list of default queries popped up which we had to choose from. Fortunately, our desired query was listed.

BetStorm Chat Screenshot

Then, we were given the answer from the FAQs section regarding this query which didn’t provide a clear answer. They said withdrawals may take up to a day, but there was no distinction between payment methods.

On the whole, we’re not fans of automated customer service.

Design & Usability

2/5

    Poor website design

    Fine technical performance

    No statistics or blog

BetStorm Home Page Screenshot

BetStorm’s website design is a bit hectic and it’s certainly not the slickest nor most professional looking we’ve seen. An unnecessarily huge advertisements slider dominates the homepage which means you’ve got to slide down to access the bookie’s markets.

A mundane grey is the dominant colour throughout, which doesn’t help the website’s cause.

The structure’s a little chaotic but we wouldn’t say it’s difficult to access the various components of BetStorm. It’s clear where everything is, but it does look quite congested.

A list of all the sports offered by the bookie runs down the left-hand side, with markets dominating the centre. Your betslip is ubiquitous down the right-hand side, which aids the betting process. All information links are accessible at the bottom.

There is no blog, nor are any statistics provided by the bookmaker.

    Functions well via mobile browser

There is currently no BetStorm mobile app. It’s all desktop as of right now. However, the site functioned well when we accessed it via mobile browser – there were no technical issues and all components of the site were easy to access.

Other Products

Nothing stands out at BetStorm’s casino, but there are plenty of games to enjoy. Various icons indicate which games are available, and they include slots and jackpots. There are a variety of live casino games to play, too.

The bookie boasts several casino promotions that’ll undoubtedly entice players, including a welcome offer for new customers. This promotion is a 100% bonus up to £100 on your first deposit as well as 20 free spins on Book of the Dead.

WHAT ARE THE PUNTERS SAYING?

BetStorm has not been well received by customers. Some users are unsatisfied with the site with some stating there are issues regarding their payments. We swiftly received the funds in our bank account after withdrawing. There were also complaints about their lack of customer service.

ThePuntersPage Final Say

2.6/5

There are aspects about this bookmaker that we like, including their pre-match coverage and constantly updated sportsbook promotions. However, there are just so many holes. It’s not a very well put together bookmaker, overall. We did not like the automated customer service, nor the structure of the site. There are positive signs, but BetStorm is not yet a bookie we’d recommend to punters.

£10 for the vast majority of BetStorm’s offered payment methods.

BetStorm’s withdrawal process is simple and merely involves confirming how much you wish to take out of your account. Punters can withdraw funds via debit card, PayPal, Payz and NETELLER.

Punters should expect to receive their funds within a couple of days. However, there’s little information available regarding exact timings.

New customers can earn a free bet should they qualify for BetStorm’s welcome offer which involved placing bets worth up to £10. The bookie also boasts various free bet promotions which are constantly updated.
