Betzone Overall Review

Founded in 2021, Betzone are another new bookmaker looking to make strides in the industry. In this review, we’ll assess various components of the bookie and see how they stack up against their competitors.

Registration Process 4/5

  • Simple three-step process
  • Basic information required
  • Chance to deposit right away

Creating an account with Betzone is incredibly simple. To begin the registration process, new users must provide their email and create a password. You can also add any promo codes here.

The next step involves listing all your personal details. Betzone require you to provide your name, gender, date of birth, address, and preferred currency. You also get to choose whether you’d like to be notified about any special offers the bookmaker may provide in the future.

That’s all the information Betzone need. Once all that’s been provided, you can make your first deposit right away.

We opted to skip this stage, which meant the process was complete. How easy was that?

Deposits & Withdrawal Options 3/5

  • Quick and easy processes
  • Limited payment options

Unfortunately, there are very few payment methods accepted at Betzone, with only debit cards (Visa/Mastercard/Maestro), bank transfers, and cheques supported. A £10 minimum deposit is in place for all options.

Regarding withdrawals, it’ll take between two to five working days for the funds to arrive in your bank account if you’re using a debit card. Bank transfer withdrawals take a while longer – potentially up to ten days.

Note that you will not be able to withdraw funds from your Betzone account until your identity has been verified, which is a standard process required by all legitimate online bookmakers for the sake of their customers’ online security.

Depositing Funds

To deposit funds into your account, begin by clicking the ‘Balance’ icon located in the top right-hand corner of the homepage.

(Source: Betzone.com)

That’ll bring up the below depositing screen.

As a first-time depositor, we were using a new payment method, but all we had to do here was confirm how much we wanted to deposit. Once we added our deposit amount, the ‘Pay Using Debit Card’ icon activated. We clicked that to advance to the next step.

(Source: Betzone.com)

As we’re depositing via debit card, we had to fill out all the financial formalities – card number, expiry date, and security code. We then clicked ‘Pay Securely’ to conclude the transaction.

Finally, we had to verify this was us making the payment with our bank. It’s a very simple and secure process, overall.

Withdrawing Winnings

We wished to withdraw the £18 balance from our Betzone account. To begin the process, we once again clicked the balance icon in the top right-hand corner.

(Source: Betzone.com)

That brought up the below screen. We next clicked ‘Withdraw’ on the drop-down list.

(Source: Betzone.com)

The process from here is very simple too. To withdraw our funds, we merely had to enter how much we wished to take out of our account before clicking ‘Withdraw’.

After doing that, we were alerted that our request was successfully processed.

Welcome Offer 3.5/5

  • 50% back as free bets up to £60
  • Promo code NEWWELCOME60
  • Debit card only

Betzone Welcome Offer Screenshot

New customers could get 50% of losses back as free bets up to £60 with Betzone’s welcome offer, when placing a 3 x £20+ bet using a debit card on the first day of betting. Bets must be at odds of evens (2.00) or above. Free bets are credited within 24 hours of settlement of the qualifying bets, and expire after 48 hours.

New Betzone users can benefit from this welcome offer when signing up using the code NEWWELCOME60.

Sportsbook Promotions 2/5

  • Daily offers
  • Lacking in originality
  • Betzone Reward Zone

There isn’t a dedicated promotions page on Betzone’s website, but their offers are well-advertised on the homepage.

Currently, Betzone boast several offers that are related to ongoing events – however, these promotions are limited and not exactly rewarding. For example, at the time of writing, customers can earn a £5 free bet if they stake £20 on The Hundred. However, they’ll only receive the free bet once a player scores 100 runs in a game. As it turned out, in the first iteration of the competition, no player scored a ton, with the highest score being 92.

In better news, there are several horse racing promotions to take advantage of. Betzone offers daily racing specials, including ‘Luck of the Irish’ – boosted odds on three Irish jockeys winning at a selected meeting.

VIP/Loyalty Programmes

Betzone do not run a VIP programme as such, but there is the Betzone Reward Zone, which we’ve already mentioned above. New customers automatically join this club/zone if they qualify for the bookmaker’s welcome offer, making them eligible for weekly free bets.

Pre-Match Offer 3/5

  • 28 Sports available to bet on
  • Competitive odds
  • No esports coverage
(Source: Betzone.com)

28 Sports make up Betzone’s sportsbook, which covers events and tournaments from across the globe, especially for football.

To measure the quality of Betzone’s margins, we used the odds overround. The latter is a calculation which combines the total percentage probability of all selections in a match coming true. Naturally, the result of this should come to 100% – however, this does not factor in the profits made by the bookmaker. For this reason, it is widely accepted that any figure below 110% is considered to indicate fair odds.

To measure the quality of Betzone’s odds, we picked three random football matches from the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League. The results came to 107.14%, 108.26% and 109.64% respectively, which show that Betzone’s margins are in fact very competitive.

If you would like to calculate the odd overround for yourself, check out our handy overround, betting margin and payout calculator.

In addition, punters have the option to display their odds as fractions or decimals.

Placing a Bet

We wanted to place a bet on one of the matches from the opening weekend of the Premier League season. To do so, we accessed the football link located down the left-hand side of the homepage. The Premier League matches manifested right away.

(Source: Betzone.com)

We wanted to place a bet on the opening game of the 2022/23 campaign between Crystal Palace and Arsenal. As you can see, we hovered over the odds denoting an Arsenal victory at 4/5.

By clicking on the odds, the bet went straight into our betslip – located on the right-hand side of the homepage.

(Source: Betzone.com)

We entered our £10 stake before clicking ‘Place Bet’.

(Source: Betzone.com)

Our bet was processed immediately, and our placed bet is shown above.

Esports

Remarkably, there are currently no esports events for users to bet on with Betzone. However, if you want to exploit the great esports offering that other bookies provide, be sure to check out our top tips and strategies article.

Other Specials

Betzone’s specials coverage is also limited, with the only event you can bet on in this category being the Mercury Prize. That said, the bookmaker also lists the Commonwealth Games under ‘Specials’, where there are several markets to take advantage of.

Cash Out & Bet Builder

While the bookmaker doesn’t offer a Bet Builder function, you’re able to take full control of your bets with Betzone’s Cash Out and Partial Cash Out features. To learn a bit more about this feature, check out our cash out guide.

Live Offer 2.5/5

  • Poor live coverage
  • No in-play features
  • Live streaming on selected UK & Irish horse racing
(Source: Betzone.com)

Betzone’s live coverage is accessible via the ‘In-play’ tab located at the top of the homepage.

Unfortunately, we found Betzone’s in-play coverage to be sub-sufficient. While we must take into account the matches available at the time of writing, the distinct lack of features was a concern. There’s nothing by way of commentary, statistics, or match trackers. The only information provided on the above game was the score and the minute.

The markets offered were very basic, too.

On a brighter note, livestreaming is available on selected UK and Irish horse racing events.

Security 3/5

  • Licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission
  • Account controls
  • No dedicated responsible gambling page
(Source: Betzone.com)

Betzone is owned by Bet21 and operated by Playbook Gaming Limited. They are, in turn, licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. In short, there’s no doubting this bookmaker’s legitimacy.

There is an emphasis placed upon responsible gambling, with punters able to set financial controls even before their Betzone account has been created. You’ll be able to set Deposit Limits, Time-Outs, Reality Checks and Self-Exclusions.

However, there isn’t a dedicated responsible gambling section as such. While other bookmakers typically provide information on the dangers of addiction and the protection of minors among other important subjects, Betzone offer nothing of this kind, which is a shame.

For those that might be concerned with how Betzone protects your personal data, a comprehensive Privacy Policy is available to view.

Service & Customer Support 3/5

  • Unorganised FAQ section
  • No live chat
  • Contact via email and social media
(Source: Betzone.com)

Betzone’s FAQs are accessible via a link located under ‘Help & Support’ down the left-hand side of the homepage. However, we found that this section isn’t exactly robust, nor is it well-structured. Questions are listed arbitrarily and there aren’t too many queries answered, overall. Although, we must say that the questions answered are done so in impressive depth.

Nevertheless, the lack of variety means that it’s likely customers will need to make the most of Betzone’s support team.

There is no live chat function, though, so we were forced to email the bookmaker in order to get our query resolved. Several social media platforms were also available.

Betzone says that it could take up to 72 hours to receive a response, but after we emailed to ask whether the bookmaker boasted a VIP programme, we got a response within the hour.

(Source: Betzone.com)

Their response was coherent, and our query was resolved.

Design & Usability 3.5/5

  • Well-designed website
  • Sharp colour contrast
  • No statistics or blog
(Source: Betzone.com)

Betzone is a jam-packed website full of promotional sliders. Despite the business of the site, Betzone does a good job in retaining an organised structure and ensuring the design is not gimmicky. For example, official images are used to showcase The Hundred, an ongoing event at the time of writing.

A primarily black colour scheme is followed throughout with the white, green and orange flickers providing a sharp contrast.

Structurally, the bookie’s sportsbook is listed down the left-hand side of the homepage with popular links and recently viewed pages also being shown. Popular events and markets occupy the centre, with advertisements also prominent, while your betslip is ubiquitous on the right-hand side.

Unfortunately, there are no accessible statistics, nor do Betzone have a blog for customers to read.

Mobile 3.5/5

  • Download via App Store and Google Play
  • Easy to place bets on the move
  • Casino offered

Betzone’s  mobile app is available to download for free via the App Store and Google Play, satisfying both Apple and Android users. Overall, the app is very well-brought together, with its layout and structure facilitating a user-friendly experience.

The design remains slick and simple, with efficient betting functionality provided. It’s incredibly easy to place a bet on the move.

Casino enthusiasts also have the option of playing their favourite casino games on Betzone’s casino app.

Other Products

Both casino and live casino games are provided by Betzone, while fans of the virtual realm can bet on multiple virtual sport events. These include football, horse racing, and tennis.

The casino games offered by the bookmaker include Drops & Wins, table games, and Megaways™ slots. While there’s nothing particularly special about their coverage, there are plenty of opportunities to win rewards daily. Betzone rewards you for playing their products, that’s for sure.

Their ‘Trending’ tab allows you to view and play the most popular casino games at any given point in time.

ThePuntersPage Final Say 3.1/5

Betzone certainly impresses in some aspects, and with a few tweaks, it could emerge as more than a suitable option for punters. Their sportsbook is broad enough to satisfy most, and they supply odds that’ll compete with just about anybody.

Overall, this is a fundamentally sound bookmaker that, on the surface, appears to be reliable and efficient. However, to entice and retain the interest of customers, more work needs to be done in the promotions/offers regard. Their lack of variety and originality in this regard does hold them back somewhat.
