England go into the fourth Test at Old Trafford knowing that a victory would see them clinch the series. India, who despite being 2-1 down have been in the driving seat for long spells of the series, will be desperate to stay in contention.
The returning Jofra Archer and top-order batsman Joe Root played a big part in the third Test victory. And we think that they, along with skipper Ben Stokes, will be key to England’s chances of success. We have put together a number of value bets which would bring you a £32 profit from a £10 bet with bet365.

Now let’s look at why we think our tips will come home.
Bet 1: England to Win Match (21/20)
While India dominated the second Test at Headingley and had their moments in the other two matches, we feel that the return of Archer to the bowling attack made an enormous difference. England’s bowling attack will continue to get stronger and with Gus Atkinson fit again they have options to shuffle the pack. India’s batters wilted as things got feisty at Lord's. We think the hosts will get the upper hand.
We also expect England to bat more aggressively than they did in the Lord’s Test. The Old Trafford pitch has produced some big scores in red-ball cricket this summer and we think that the likes of Root and Harry Brook will take advantage of this.
Furthermore, the nine-day gap between the last match will work in England’s favour. Archer and Stokes both need to manage their bodies carefully now, and nine days should be sufficient recovery time for the pair to be firing on all cylinders. Stokes was instrumental in the third Test with the bat, with the ball and as a leader. The captain will be a significant factor in England’s bid to wrap up the series.
Bet 2: JE Root 50+ Runs (4/11)
Root has been extremely consistent throughout the series, averaging over 42 runs per innings. We are confident that he will score over 50 runs across the match. The Old Trafford pitch has shown that it can produce big scores in recent times, and we feel that the men ahead of Root in the England batting order may perform better than of late, thus reducing the Yorkshireman’s time in the middle, which is why we decided against backing him to get a larger total.
Bet 3: JC Archer 5+ Wickets (8/11)
Archer made his long-awaited return to Test cricket at Lord’s and underlined his ability to be a major difference maker. He claimed a wicket with his third ball of the match and his spell on the final day was crucial.
Archer came away with five wickets across the match. With the added confidence gained from his fitness holding out, we think that this is just the start, and we are confident that he will at least match his five-wicket haul at Old Trafford.
