Palmeiras vs Botafogo – Botafogo to Win 13/5

Palmeiras have looked incredibly solid so far in the competition and are unbeaten in the group stages with one win and two draws. Group A looked like a tricky one to progress from for the Brazilian outfit, but progress they did.

Botafogo have been a real surprise package. Their two wins and a loss were enough to see them take second place in Group B, with a notable highlight being beating the current Champions League winners, PSG, 1-0.

On paper, this will likely be another close encounter between two evenly matched teams. Palmeiras are defensively strong, conceding just twice in their three games, while Botafogo have shown they can rub shoulders with Europe’s elite.

The bookies tend to agree, with odds for Palmeira 27/20, Botafogo 13/5 and the draw 19/10. It’s priced like a game that they want nothing to do with, so this opens the market to strong value options.

We think 13/5 for a Botafogo win is way too high. They’ve beaten PSG and Seattle, and only narrowly lost out to Atletico Madrid. They’ve a great chance to make it to the last eight, and 13/5 looks like massive value to include in our accumulator.

Benfica vs Chelsea – Both Teams to Score Yes 3/4

Benfica has been impressive to watch in their opening three group games. They hit Auckland City for six, before grinding out a hard-fought 2-2 draw with a well-organised Boca Juniors side.

But their 1-0 win over European giants, Bayern Munich, was the pick of the bunch. Sure, they rode their luck at times, facing 13 shots and conceding 73% of possession, but they took their chance and, in the end, deserved all three points.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have looked like the Jekyll and Hyde team that saw them finish fourth in the Premier League. Two decent enough wins over LAFC and Esperance de Tunis were followed by a crushing 3-1 loss to Flamengo.

From a betting perspective, the odds suggest another close call. Slightly better than even money for a Chelsea win looks short, and Benfica at 27/10 carries a little too much risk.

What both teams have done well is score goals. Benfica have bagged nine in three and Chelsea six in three.

Goals look like the money play once again, and both teams to score at 4/5 is strong enough that this is the best value play for the game.

PSG vs Inter Miami – Both Teams to Score Yes 4/5

Paris takes on Hollywood in what is probably the most anticipated game of the knockout stages. As one of the hosts, Miami will bring the flair to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, but they have a massive task on their hands to beat the pre-tournament favourites.

The headlines will undoubtedly be around Lionel Messi facing his former club, and what a storyline it would be if they could progress.

But the head must overrule the heart here in a game that PSG should run out comfortable winners.

The Parisians looked a million dollars as they swept aside Atletico Madrid 4-0 in their opening game. However, they were humbled just four days later in a 1-0 defeat to Botafogo, which was the culmination of fatigue from a draining season and possibly a little complacency.

Miami are unbeaten so far, with a famous win against Porto making them the first North American outfit to beat a team from Europe in a major domestic competition. They’ve then followed this with two draws to finish second in Group A.

PSG should run out comfortable winners, but with the likes of Messi and Suarez on the pitch, Miami will pose a threat. Both teams to score at 4/5 is the play for this one.

Flamengo vs Bayern Munich – Bayern to Win 7/10

Flamengo have arguably been the most exciting team so far in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Two wins and a draw see them perched at the top of Group D and will likely feel unlucky to meet Bayern in the Round of 16, given what should have been a favourable tie for group winners.

Bayern have looked a little jaded at times thus far. A massive 10-0 win over Auckland City was expected, and their 1-0 victory over Bocca Juniors was hard fought, at best.

A 1-0 defeat to Benfica was a surprise, but it proved enough to see them through to the knockout stages, where we think the Germans will start to rally.

Both teams will likely adopt their traditional 4-2-3-1 formation, albeit with Flamengo looking to counter and Bayern to dominate possession.

It’s tough to look past Bayern, to be honest, even after their defeat to Benfica. Odds of 7/10 look really strong, and while this could be a potential banana skin, it’s too big of a price to ignore, so they make up the final part of our FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 betting tips.
