Jamie Vardy announced his departure from Leicester at the end of the 2024/25 season, and the rumour mill is churning about the 38-year-old's next club.

Jamie Vardy Transfer odds and next club move from Leicester
Jamie Vardy has left Leicester City as we preview the latest betting odds for his next club

It was an unfortunate end to a 13-year tenure with The Foxes as they were relegated back to the Championship, just 12 months after securing promotion.

Even though the timing wasn’t ideal, Vardy will go down as a Leicester legend. His record of 200 goals in 500 games is an impressive return, and who can forget his contribution to their epic 5000/1 league title in 2015/16.

Many assumed that Vardy would see out his final playing days at the King Power Stadium, but he was keen to stress that it wasn’t the end of his career, just the end of his Leicester City chapter.

The question now is: what will be Jamie Vardy’s next club?

There’s no shortage of interest for the former England international, with clubs in Scotland, England, Spain, the United States and Italy all being linked.

As the season draws closer and with no announcement made, Jamie Vardy’s transfer odds are often the best place to look to get an idea of where he might end up.

We’ve featured three of the most likely destinations that offer the best value in the market right now, including where to bet to get the best odds.

Jamie Vardy Next Club Odds

Rangers currently lead the Jamie Vardy transfer odds priced at 4/6 with some of the best betting sites. Here’s a look at other clubs and potential moves in the running.

ClubOdds  Implied Probability (%) Bookmaker Reasons to Join
Rangers 4/6 60.00% Ladbrokes Current favourites. Strong links due to profile and style. Scottish Premiership fits Vardy's physical game.
Any Scottish Club 4/5 55.56% BetVictor Covers Rangers and Celtic but also includes other options should they arise.
Any Spanish Club 13/8 38.10% BetVictor A left-field move, but lifestyle appeal and a slower pace of play could suit Vardy at this stage.
Celtic 4/1 20.00% Ladbrokes Major Scottish option outside of Rangers. Interest depends on the club's striker plans.
Como 4/1 20.00% William Hill Newly promoted Serie A side with big-name backing. A potential lifestyle move similar to stars joining the MLS.
Nottingham Forest 7/1 12.50% Ladbrokes Could remain in the Premier League if Forest takes a gamble. Local ties also exist.
Wrexham 12/1 7.69% BetVictor Hollywood-owned Championship side. Media profile and project appeal, but level might be a drawback.

Tartan Tipped: Vardy Odds-On for Gers Switch

Rangers have emerged as front-runners to sign Vardy, and there’s a lot of market confidence from the bookies as he sits odds-on to make the trip across the border.

It would be a statement signing for the new ownership group led by Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises as they look to inject some much-needed quality into the squad.

What makes this a critical move for The Gers is the potential departures of strikers Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane. Granted, neither have set the world alight at Ibrox, but it leaves them lacking in numbers, if nothing else.

Talksport has reported that Rangers are linked with a summer swoop for Vardy, which would see him choose Scotland over a move to Championship side Wrexham.

It feels like the kind of club that Vardy would adapt well to. A large, passionate fanbase in a league that wouldn’t be as demanding as the Premier League, and more suited to this latter stage of his career.

Current odds of 4/6 suggest that this is a deal that could be done quickly and would make sense for both parties.

INFO

Ladbrokes currently have Jamie Vardy at odds of 4/6 to join Rangers, but the best way to back this is to head to BetVictor, where you can get “Any Scottish Club” at a better price of 4/5. Not only would this offer a bigger return if he moved to Ibrox, but it would also cover any surprise moves to other Scottish teams, such as Celtic.

A Hollywood Ending: Vardy Backed for Wrexham Blockbuster

When Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham in 2021, they could only dream of being in the conversation of buying players of the calibre of Jamie Vardy.

But fast forward four years and three promotions, and here we are.

In terms of a project, this is one that’ll get Vardy’s attention. He’s not one to shy away from the limelight with his controversial goal celebrations purposely designed to mock opponent fanbases, so having the noise and hysteria that is part of the Wrexham package will be water off a duck's back.

The stumbling block here will be money. He was on a reported £140,000 a week at Leicester, and while he’s likely not going to get that regardless of where he goes, it remains to be seen just how much of a pay cut he is willing to accept.

A fascinating twist to the Wrexham move is the odds. He’s as short as 9/2 on William Hill and as long as 12/1 with BetVictor. The latter is a big price and, in terms of value, is as good as you’ll find for Jamie Vardy’s next club.

El Vardico: Bookies Tip Foxes Legend for Spanish Stint

Reports from Spain as recently as 12 July suggest that a move to Valencia might be on the cards.

Their manager, Carlos Corberan, is apparently a big fan, and Sport Bible reported that he’s in contact with their technical director about how he might fit into their plans.

Valencia is well known for its deep back line and devastating counter, and even though Vardy has lost a yard or two of pace, it will be a system that suits in terms of playing style.

It feels like a move that’s a bit of a stretch, and as yet, the bookies don’t have a specific market for a move to Los Che. However, BetVictor isrunning with “Any Spanish Club” at 13/8, which would cover this bet.
