England are in a spot of bother as they head into their third game of Group C against Scotland on Saturday, 13th February. They scrapped past Nepal by four runs in their opener before being soundly beaten by the West Indies, taking just two points from a possible four.

They now head into the game with Scotland at Eden Gardens knowing that only a win will keep their tournament progress in their own hands.

Scotland, who also lost to the West Indies, bounced back with an emphatic win over Italy and kept their play-off hopes alive. They’re currently above England in the table thanks to a superior net run rate and are looking to get their first-ever win over the old enemy in Kolkata.

Saturday’s game looks like an intriguing one, and England’s defeat to the West Indies has blown the game wide open. We’ve trawled the best betting sites to see where the value lies and come up with three picks for the game that look packed with value.

Bet 1: Jacob Bethell to Score Over 22.5 Runs

Jacob Bethell has taken to international cricket like a duck to water. To think he’s only 22 and with this much talent is a frightening prospect, and he’s made the No.3 position his own in T20’s.

He batted beautifully for his 55 against Nepal and backed that up with a workman-like 33 against the West Indies. In both innings, he’ll be disappointed to have not kicked on for bigger scores, but every time he’s at the crease, he looks calm, composed and best of all, fluid.

England comes into this game as strong favourites, and rightly so. They’ll want to put a marker down to make up for their performances thus far, and we’re backing Bethell to be the anchor around that revival. Priced at 87/100 to score over 22.5 runs is our first pick.

Bet 2: Adil Rashid Over 20.5 Player Points

It’s our first time dipping into the player points market for our T20 World Cup tips, and it might come as little surprise to see that we’ve targeted one of England’s standout performers.

The leg spinner is at the top of his game, and even though England got beat off the West Indies, he was the one who limited them to a target that was attainable. His figures of 16-2 from four overs were about as good as you’ll see from a spin bowler, and at a time when the likes of Sherfane Rutherford and Roston Chase were taking the game away from England.

Getting on the over 20.5 player points at just shy of even money basically means he needs to take 1+ wickets and score 1+ run or take a catch. Any combination will do.

Bet 3: Over 8.5 Extras in Scotland’s Batting Innings

England’s poor start to their T20 World Cup campaign has mainly been down to their bowling attack. The seamers have struggled with consistency, and it’s shown in the number of extras they’ve conceded.

We’re taking on the over 8.5 extras at a little better than even money, and for good reason. England have conceded 10 or more extras in their opening two T20 World Cup games, but we can even move the needle back to the Sri Lanka series, where the line was covered in two of those three games, and looking back further, they’re at six from their last eight.

It’s not your standard cricket betting market, but it looks good value if this trend is set to continue.
