The final of the 2026 T20 World Cup takes place on Sunday, 8 March, with the hosts and pre-tournament favourites India facing one of the best pound-for-pound teams in the world, New Zealand.

India had to work hard to keep their hopes of becoming the first team to win back-to-back T20 World Cups alive, beating England by just seven runs. They batted beautifully with controlled aggression to set a tournament-high 253, and were almost undone by a magnificent hundred from Jacob Bethell in response, but England ultimately fell just short.

For New Zealand, it was much more straightforward, beating South Africa by nine wickets in Kolkata. They go in search of their first T20 World Cup title after falling just short in 2021, but they couldn’t face tougher opposition, highlighted by their odds of 11/5 to send 1.5 billion people into meltdown.

Bet 1: New Zealand Opening Partnership – Over 23.5 Runs

New Zealand’s scintillating form so far in the tournament has largely been down to laying a solid foundation with the bat. Both Tim Seifert and Finn Allen have been nothing short of superb at the top of the order, and are both within the top six highest run scorers so far.

bet365 have set the line at over/under 23.5 runs, and we’re happy to jump on the over at odds of 10/11. They’ve covered the line in six of the seven games played so far, with the only failure against Afghanistan (14).

It’s also worth noting that they did it twice in the five-match series against India in January, so they have form here and look good value to drop in as the first of our T20 World Cup final betting tips.

Bet 2: India to Score Over 10.5 Match Sixes

The over 10.5 match sixes for India looks a really interesting bet. They went ballistic against England in the semi-final, landing 15 maximums on their way to a formidable 246. It makes it the fourth time in seven games they’ve covered this line.

If we go back to the India vs New Zealand series in January, they were even more ruthless and covered the line in four out of the five games. In the one they failed, they scored 10 sixes, so they were right on the cusp.

It might need India to bat first for odds of 5/6 to become really exciting, but even batting second, they’ve proved this number can be covered with ease.

Bet 3: Jaspreet Bumrah Over 1.5 Wickets

Jaspreet Bumrah flaunted all his class in the semi-final against England. Just when Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks had dragged the Three Lions back into the game, Bumrah came on and conceded just 14 runs combined from the 16th and 18th overs to make it incredibly difficult to get near a record T20 World Cup run chase.

He’s going to go down as one of the best seam bowlers of all time, and one of his greatest strengths is standing up in big games. And they don’t come much bigger than Sunday. He’s taken two or more wickets in three of his seven games, and we’re backing him to finish strong against New Zealand. Odds of 5/6 for over 1.5 wickets is our final pick of our T20 World Cup betting tips.
