F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Betting Tips
It may be the last race of the year, but it’s also one of the best. The FIA go all out to create a memorable sporting spectacle, with concerts, shows, and a who’s who of celebrity and sports stars. But a lot of people overlook the race from a betting perspective, especially if the championships have already been decided. We’ve done our research, removed ourselves from the noise and evaluated the markets to see where the value lies in our Abu Dhabi Grand Prix betting tips.
Max Verstappen Pole Position and Win
It's the final race of the season, and all the momentum is currently with Verstappen. The Dutchman has clawed his way back into the Driver's Championship, winning five of the last eight Grand Prix's to put serious pressure on the two McLarens.
We’ve gone with a double for Max to take pole and win the race. The reason? Well, in each of the last 10 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix’s, the driver who’s been on pole has won. Four of the previous five are Max, so it’s fair to say he knows his way around Yas Marina. If the championship is still on the line come December, few are more clinical than Verstappen, and we’re backing him to finish strong.
Lewis Hamilton to Finish on the Podium
It’s been a frustrating first season at Ferrari for Lewis. He’s just not clicked with the car, and anything that could have gone wrong has. The car has looked quick since upgrades were brought in for Azerbaijan, but it hasn’t been converted to points.
No one knows the Yas Marina circuit better than Hamilton. He’s won here five times, more than any other driver, and he, like Verstappen, will be looking to finish on a high. The Ferraris went well here in 2024, finishing second and third respectively, so they’ll have the pace. A podium finish to end a dismal year for Lewis would be a long shot, but typical of the seven-time champion.
F1 Drivers Championship Odds
It's the final race of the season, and all to play for at the top. Verstappen is just 12 points behind Norris, with Piastri 16. Anything could happen in Abu Dhabi, as we've famously seen in the past, and the latest odds are live.
Most Popular Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Betting Markets
To find value from the betting odds for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, you really need to broaden your horizons in terms of markets. We’ve listed some of the more popular ones and explained a little more about how they work.
Pick which driver you think will win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Choose any driver to finish in the top three in any order. It’s worth noting that you get paid the same regardless of whether they finish first, second or third.
Pick a river to finish in the top 10 positions at the end of the race. F1 races give points to the entire top 10, so this market is often referred to as a points finish.
Choose the driver to finish in pole position at the end of qualifying. This is vitally important for the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, as every driver who’s finished on pole since 2014 has gone on to win the race.
The driver who has the fastest lap of the race. Not, this is not necessarily the race winner, but the single quickest lap.
Pick if there will be a safety car at any point in the race. Some bookies will include the virtual safety car (VSC) as well, so you need to check T&Cs to confirm.
Pick the team that finishes first in the race. For example, either of the Red Bull drivers to win the race.

When is the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?

Yas Marina Circuit Reviewed: Racetrack Analysis for Punters
The first thing to note about Yas Marina is that the winner has only once come from anywhere other than the front row (Räikkönen from P4 in 2012). Qualifying plays a massive role if you’re betting on the race winner, so either wait until after this or try to predict who has the best one-lap speed around the track if betting before.
We’ve got two long DRS straights for overtaking, and these are both key areas of the track. The redesign in 2021 has improved the flow, but track position is still king here. It’s not a high-drama race in terms of incidents, and often, no safety car is deployed (check out that betting market for anything around evens or better).
