It is increasingly likely that Christopher Nkunku will leave Chelsea this summer. The Blues have an abundance of options in wide positions and upfront, and although Nkunku played his part in Chelsea’s successful campaign in 2024/25, the indications are that he will struggle for game time this time around. There are plenty of top clubs interested in the Frenchman, who can operate in several attacking positions.

Christopher Nkunku Transfer Odds
Cole Palmer was a major factor in Nkunku only making nine Premier League starts last season. He was also unable to displace Nicolas Jackson in a central role. The additions of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro look as though they will further limit his opportunities. His departure from Stamford Bridge appears to be on the cards, with Fabrizio Romano posting that Nkunku’s exit looks almost certain.
There are a number of clubs interested, and the best football betting sites have Bayern Munich as favourites with bet365 currently offering odds of 5/2.

Let’s have a look at the most likely destinations for Nkunku.
Bayern Munich: Bundesliga Return on the Cards
Nkunku positively thrived in the Bundesliga with his previous club RB Leipzig, bagging 70 goals in 172 appearances. Bayern are keen to bolster their attack and Nkunku, who is said to be open to the move, can fill a range of attacking positions.
Obviously, at a club of Bayern’s stature Nkunku, who became frustrated with his lack of game time at Chelsea, would have to fight for his place but he will be confident of returning to Germany’s top flight and making an impact. We think that this is a deal that could well happen.
Nkunku to Stay at Chelsea
We don’t think that this is an option that will suit either the club or the player. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has brought in a number of attacking options which present further roadblocks to Nkunku’s path to the starting line-up. The Pensioners have a vastly bloated squad as it is, and they will want a number of players, including the Frenchman, off the wage bill. Nkunku also wants to be starting matches regularly at this stage in his career.
Furthermore, Maresca is looking to bring in even more attacking players, with Xavi Simons highly fancied to make the move to west London.
A stumbling block could be the transfer fee. Chelsea lashed out £52 million to secure Nkunku’s services in 2023. However, the indications are that the FIFA Club World Cup winners are prepared to cut their losses.
Old Trafford Switch for Nkunku?
According to Metro, Chelsea is willing to drop their asking price for Nkunku by £22 million. This could open the door for Manchester United who have spent the summer revamping their forward line. The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. If the former RB Leipzig man were to make the move north, there is every chance that he could be used in a more central role.
Another interesting aside is Chelsea’s possible interest in Alejandro Garnacho transfer, which could lead to some sort of exchange. We don’t think that this is particularly likely, however. And, while we are not ruling it out; we are not convinced that a move to Man United of any sort will materialise for Nkunku this window.
