This year's format is a shakeup to the closed shop of previous years, expanding from seven teams to mimic the OG World Cup with 32 clubs from six confederations.

The United States hosts all 63 games across 11 cities, with the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami having the honour of presenting the opening game between Inter Miami and Egyptian side Al Ahly.

Al Ahly Cairo vs Inter Miami – Over 2.5 Goals 7/10

The final boss of culture clashes. Egyptian side Al Ahly takes on the host, Inter Miami, in what looks to be a surprisingly even matchup on paper.

Bookmakers bet365 have Miami as the 11/10 favourites, which is interesting as they’ve not been the dominant force in the MLS that many predicted when signing the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Currently perched third in the Easter Conference, it’s been a mediocre season so far for David Beckham’s toy project, and we don’t see an awful lot of value in that price.

Al Ahly are no mugs, having won the CAF Champions League in 2019/20, 2020/21, 2022/23, and 2023/24, a competition that could be argued to be stronger than the MLS.

Opening games can be a tough call, but we like the look of the over 2.5 goals market for this one.

Five of Al Ahly’s last seven games have had over 2.5 goals, coupled with nine from nine for Inter Miami. Setting our own line, we’d put the implied probability at least 75%, which would be odds of 1/3.

To see that bet365 is offering a massive 8/11 on over 2.5 goals, looks like a great start for our FIFA Club World Cup betting tips.

Bayern Munich vs Auckland City – Olise to Assist Anytime 1/1

The nature of this year's Club World Cup means there will be games that are total mismatches, and none will be bigger than when Auckland City take on Bayern Munich.

Bayern are a staggering 1/100 to win the game, which might be the shortest odds we’ve ever seen in what is an elite club competition.

We’re swerving this faster than a Cristiano Ronaldo free kick into Row Z and instead trying to see where on earth the value lies.

To be honest, there’s not much value out there, but a certain Mr. Olise has caught our eye.

In his first season for The Reds, he’s returned 12 goals and 15 assists in 34 matches. A remarkable output for the former Crystal Palace man.

He’s got eight assists in his last eight games for the German outfit, and is priced at even money to turn provider once again.

It’s a game where Bayern could rock up a cricket score, so he will have plenty of opportunities at a price that looks superb value. Wunderbar!

PSG vs Atletico Madrid – PSG to Win 5/6

PSG’s demolition job of Inter Milan in the Champions League final has finally put Les Parisiens amongst football's elite.

They come into the 2025 Club World Cup as one of the pre-tournament favourites and look decent value for it at odds of 5/1.

The game against Atletico Madrid is one of the ties of the group phase. Two European giants and former UEFA Champions League winners are a dream scenario for FIFA and exactly what they were hoping for when plans to reshuffle the Club World Cup were put in place.

It’ll be a tight game, and Atletico are no pushovers, but PSG are on fire right now and that youthful energy that flows through the team should be enough to get them over the line on Sunday evening.

We toyed with the idea of the both teams to sore market, given that they’ve averaged 3+ goals per game over the last 15, but the niggling thought that two powerhouses could cancel each other out has veered us elsewhere.

Odds of 5/6 for PSG to win are just enough to get excited about. They’ve won each of their last five games, scoring 17 and conceding just two (another reason why we swerved BTTS) and should have enough to see off Diego Simeone’s team on opening night.

Palmeiras vs Porto – Under 2.5 Goals 13/20

In the final game of the first day’s fixtures, Palmeiras take on Porto at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

This is probably the closest game to call of the four, as both teams are having mediocre seasons for their high standards. Palmeiras are fourth in the Brazilian Serie A, and Porto finished third in Liga Portugal.

The two systems that the teams generally adopt are different, but could cancel each other out. Palmeiras play a more adventurous 3-4-2-1, favouring a solid defensive base and quick transitions at the turnover.

Porto, on the other hand, will adopt a 4-2-3-1 formation, sitting deeper and looking to control the game more. The two wide men will support the lone striker and look to break teams down more methodically, rather than hit Palmeiras on the counter.

Chances should be hard to come by, and the bookies clearly think it’ll be a tight game, given odds of 13/8 (Palmeiras) and 17/10 (Porto) on the full-time result market.

This has a low-scoring tactical battle written all over it, and for that reason, we’re favouring the under 2.5 goals. Granted, 13/20 looks short, but there’s enough meat on the bone to make up the final selection of our Club World Cup prediction.
